Re: Chicago Cubs Losing Streak Discussion Thread
First, let me say that I'm being completely sincere here...
This is why I love Cubs fans. To be loyal to a baseball team for multiple generations of losing is what baseball is all about. Prediction: When the Cubs finally win a World Series, after all the excitement has died down, Cubs fans will look back with nostalgia at the less successful teams of the past (1969, 1984), and think of those seasons as their true identity.

Re: Chicago Cubs Losing Streak Discussion Thread
With today's loss in Target Field, the Cubs have now lost 20 out of their last 24. Over half (11) of those losses were of the one-run variety.

Re: Chicago Cubs Losing Streak Discussion Thread
I'd put up with all of that, just to be able to watch a game played on the same field where Honus Wagner, Christy Mathewson, Three Finger Brown, and those guys used to play. In fact, I'd pay $20 for a tour of the field, if they'd let me onto it for a couple minutes, to soak in the history.
Who would want to trade that for a new plastic stadium with jacked-up ticket prices?

Re: Chicago Cubs Losing Streak Discussion Thread
Even Peter Gammons called it a "Dump".
This should be a new thread, but here goes:
- Impossible parking
- One big urinal (you'll only understand this if you've been to the men's room there)
- Brick walls in outfield? Someone is due to die
- Stupid location
- No foul grounds
- Too many female fans discussing Real Housewives of (name city) instead of paying attention to the baseball game
- No bullpens
- Too many male fans with their shirts off in the bleachers (why?)
- Too many fans more determined to drink as much beer as they can before they pass out or are asked to leave
- Over 100 years without a World Champion
- They still blame a fan for 2003
- No video replay (what's that screen now in right field anyway?)
I'll let others continue this list...

Win or lose...the beers always seem to taste better at Wrigley. Hope they can turn things around soon though.Leave a comment:
