As for Tampa Bay, this is the third time in the past four years that they have had a pitcher (Buerhle, Braden and Hernandez) throw a perfect game against them.
Went to the game today with my son, on his 4th birthday.
Went to buy a game used ball in the 5th inning and they said they where suspending all the ball sales for the game, i guess i waited a inning to long
oh well, still had a blast and something to remember for life
As a fan of the two-time National Champion South Carolina Gamecocks, I have to point out that two of the recent pefect games have had former Gamecocks on the winning side: Landon Powell caught the one for the A's a couple of years ago (was it Braden's?) and Smoak, just back from the minors, contributed last night by playing error-free ball at first.
The story really hurts about the ball sales being suspended during the game! That makes no sense; those in attendance should have been rewarded by being given first chance at them.
Also, this has got to be the first time two perfect games in one season have been thrown in the same ballpark. Philip Humber's gem was against the Mariners in Safeco Field, as well.
