    Mariners staff

Most have Mets ties: Manager is Lloyd McClendon (drafted by Mets and traded in 82 to the Reds for Tom Seaver), Hojo is the hitting coach, John Stearns is the third base coach, Rick Waits was a pitching/bullpen coach at just about every level of the Mets org, former Met Chris Woodward is the infield coach and last but not least Jason Phillips is the bullpen catcher.

More coincidence than anything else though...

    Re: Mariners staff

I don't know if it's a coincidence. Lloyd probably got to know these guys from each of their respective time in NY and figured that they would all be good choices for his coaching staff.

If I was a manager building a coaching staff I would choose some guys that I knew and trusted.
Always looking for anything John Flaherty, Drew Storen and Marcell Ozuna game used.
