Hello Forum members. I hate to do this but I am forced to sell due to some debt issues as well as helping out a family member. I am offering up out of my collection two outstanding Cal Ripken Jr. game used bats for sale. Both bats were just examined and graded by John Taube. I will not have the bats or grading sheets back for examination until the end of the week at the very earliest so if you would like to examine the grading sheets or need additional photos I will not have them until the end of the week. The first bat pictured is a classic Ripken 1991-97 signature model P72 black finish that is absolutely hammered with use. It shows all the classic signs with ball marks, deeply embedded stitch marks, rack marks lots of pine tar as well. The bat was professionally repaired on the handle and it graded a GU 7 from John. He told me that because I did not have it repaired and do not know exactly when it was repaired, the fact that tar might have had to have been replaced on the handle kept it from grading a GU 8.5. Please let me know if you have questions or need additional pics as well. There is no number on the handle however it is a classic 35 inch Ripken gamer from the streak era with a beautiful autograph on the barrel in silver paint pen. If you need the bats weight I will have to wait for its return from John later this week. I am looking for $3000.00 delivered.

Please let me know if you need additional pics as I am having trouble pasting them into this listing. I can email them seperate to you.
The second bat is a Cal Ripken Jr. P72 Hickory finish bat that dates to Cal's days at Rochester AAA during the 1981 season. This is a very rare minor league bat that shows moderate overall use and also has a professionally repaired handle crack. The bat features an early Ripken autograph in silver paint pen displayed on the barrel. Ripken's #5 from his days at Rochester AAA is also written in black sharpie on the knob. This bat graded a GU8 from John Taube and is quite honestly very difficult for me to let go of. This is one of only two Rochester era AAA bats of Cal's that I have seen for sale in my many years of collecting. The only other one sold at Robert Edwards Auction and was a A8.5 rated bat by MEARS last year. This bat sold for $5500 at Edwards and if I can find the link I will post it here. That bat was discussed at length on this forum in regards to the Edwards auction bat. I am looking for $4000 delivered for this beauty. This bat like the other P72 is a classic 35 inch Ripken gamer however I do not have the weight on either bat. Obviously they both perfectly match factory records or they would not have scored as they did with John. Again, I will not have the actual grading sheets from PSA/DNA and John Taube in my possession until the end of the week. I can email additional pics of either bat to any interested forum member. Please let me know if you have additional questions. If you would like to discuss specifics on either bat with John, I am sure he would be happy to discuss either or both bats as he just examined them late last week.
Thanks
