This is a beautiful all-original game used home jersey of six-time Pro Bowler Doug Smith. It shows great game use, but isn't beat up beyond reason by any means. I counted four team repairs in the shoulders, and one on the back. All of the appropriate Sand-Knit tagging is present. Best of all, this jersey can be traced back to the 1985 season because the original Rams 40th Anniversary patch is still there! This was the season where the Rams made it all the way to the NFC Championship game, but were understandably outplayed by the legendary '85 Bears.
Doug Smith was elected to six Pro Bowls in a row from 1985-1989, making this jersey part of his first Pro Bowl season, and he played fourteen seasons for the Rams from 1978-1991.
There is a light amount of red helmet paint transfer on the 40th patch... This would coincide with their week four home game against the Falcons. There's also some blue helmet paint transfer on the yellow ram sleeves, which would coincide with their week one home match against the Broncos.
This is the only 1985 Rams jersey I've seen in the hobby, and it's the only one I have
$400 for insured Priority Mail.
Thanks -- Anthony
