Glenn Wilson wore uniform #27 for the 1984 season, #12 for the 1985-1987 seasons.

Yes, Mr Wolf, according to third party websites you seem correct. The jersey in question was acquired from a large collection of Phillies game used merchandise. First off I find it odd that a ballplayer would sign a jersey that is not his. Secondly, I will write a letter to Mr. Wilson in reference to this jersey and inquire if he recalls wearing #13. I will share his response with the forum.

Howard's question about Wilson's uniform number is legitimate. Please respond to the question posed if you have information that proves Wilson wore the # on this jersey. 1) Howard never asked a question. He simply made a statement.
2) I did respond to his statement
3) How is Howards question legitimate? Where did he get his facts? What was his source? Can he provide me information that proves Glenn Wilson did not wear #13 in 1985? Can you have Mr. Wolf prove that to the forum? PLEASE
4) As stated, I will write to Mr. Wilson and try to answer Mr. Wolf's "statement".

Rob, as we all know any item or collection can come under scrutiny and be dissected. One can also target someone in a venemous manner and as long as forum rules are not broken get away with it.

There are three reliable sources which collectors have access to which you can cross reference uniform numbers. One is the Baseball Almanac on line: http://baseball-almanac.com . Second would be the book published in 2006 “Now Batting, Number . . .” by Jack Looney. Finally, an older book which I believe was published in the 90’s (and I wish I had): “Baseball by the Numbers”.

I have the Jack Looney book and it does not show Wilson wearing “13” in 1985 nor does the Baseball Almanac. I’m not implying that these references are 100% perfect though I have only found one omitted No. for a player amongst the thousands listed. Game issued? One off gamer? Possible. If Howard has any other reference, I’m sure he will share it.

As R.C. mentioned in his post, there are many resources available both online and offline that show which players wore which numbers during any given season. Like most collectors, I'm sure that is where Howard's information came from. I also took the time to check all these resources myself and could not find any evidence of Wilson wearing #13. As the seller, the burden of proof is yours...so we'll all look forward to hearing what Mr. Wilson has to say about the jersey.

I see no "venom" in Howard's post at all. He noticed the number on this jersey wasn't the norm, and pointed it out. This happens almost daily on the forum with a number of items...not all stemming from Howard Wolf. I realize there is some animosity between Howard and some collectors who regularly post in this for sale section, but the personal issues will be checked at the door.

Living in the Philadelphia area during the 1980's, I don't recall any Phillies active player of that decade wearing #13 until Lance Parrish arrived in 1987. Prior to Parrish, for several years it was worn by their bullpen catcher (I believe his last name was King). Maybe someone on here can confirm this or I'll see if I can find some old Phillies yearbooks.
