The star under the bill of the McGwire Cardinals hat appears similar to other black ink stars on equipment that Bob Kirk has added. I've seen other hats and equipment he's owned, and they also had these stars added. Can you confirm that this is the case with this McGwire cap?

Once again, a thread in this section has gotten way out of hand. As a result, I deleted everyone's posts and edited Howard's post in the form of a question about the markings on the McGwire hat. If the seller of these caps would kindly respond to the question, it would be most appreciated. Now here's the bottom line:

If folks in this section can't act like grown ups, these threads will be deleted. It is a PRIVILEGE, not a right, to post items for sale here at no charge. If I have to continue to spend time babysitting these threads, action will be taken against ALL those involved. I don't need to name any names...you all know who you are. Do not call me to plead your cases...just act like adults.

Enough is enough. Thank you in advance for your cooperation.

      Best,

      Rob

Re: Hall of Famer (soon to be) game used hats McGwire, Winfield, Niekro

As requested I will respond to Howard's edited question. My answer is "I do not know". As most game used hats have something written under the visor, most commonly the players number. Who really knows who scribes it there unless seen in person. Could be the player, equipment manager, collector. In this thread I have listed 3 other hats that were part of Mr. Kirks collection. I have attached photos of each. None of which have a star. Therefore, based on this small sample, I have to assume that Mr. Kirk did not place the star on the hat simply because there were no other uncommon markings on the others. I hope this answers your question Mr. Wolf.
