Re: Tom Gordon Phillies hat
Can't remember if I purchased it from the Phillies or from a long time Phillies collector who lives in south jersey.Comment

Re: Tom Gordon Phillies hat
1) An item is listed for sale;
2) Two minutes later another member comes on and says he will buy the item;
3) An ensuing discourse occurs where the seller brags about selling a similar item for four times the amount of the one just sold but "without all the scribbling".
Simple logic begs the question, why would a seller sell an item that he projects as superior to one he just sold ("without all the scribbling") for less than four times what he sold the "inferior" item for previously.
I am guessing from Nate's post that there is some background that explains what is going on here. If this has to do with some personal matter, I will remind everyone that we will not allow posts where the purpose is intended to disrupt the harmony of the forum.
Also, please note the "Administration" area on the bottom of the forum rules linked here:

You note, “Where did the Gordon hat with all the crazy scribblin?I've seen many Gordon hats and none had any writing in them.
Currently on Ebay is a game worn Tom Gordon Yankees hat with LOA from Elite. After examining the photos from Elite, this hat has almost the same exact markings and trimmed interior as the Phillies Gordon hat I purchased from Bob “Skyliner” last month. I’ve seen quite a few game worn Gordon hats that have either team documentation or Elite documentation, and all have had similar markings inside and also trimmed liners.
Based on the fact that the same New Era hats the players wear can now be purchased on Ebay and various retails establishments, and combined with the fact that there are so many fly by night dealers and questionable offerings on various blogs, Ebay and the internet, I’d be extremely leery to purchase a recent era “game used hat” based strictly on the players number being penned under the bill. In my opinion, having a team LOA or specific players marketing companies LOA is a must. I want to thank Bob for allowing to me to not only add an extremely difficult style Phillies hat to my collection, but also for providing the Phillies LOA with it. I plan to have Gordon autograph it in 2008, and also ask him about the "crazy scribblin".
Photos of my Gordon and the Elite Yankees Gordon are below.
