Offered is a Pittsburgh Steelers suspension helmet. Inside the helmet, there is a paper Riddell label that dates the helmet to either 1968 or 1969. This label also says that the helmet is a RK 2 Tru-KURV helmet. On top of the helmet are six air holes. On the front of the helmet, between the ridge, are two holes. Just above the facemask, on both sides is a single drilled hole. Riddell made the facemask that is on the helmet. On one side it says Riddell and a serial number while on the other appears the initials, “B0”.
Please note the close-up scan of the Steelers logo. The logo itself is made of very thin almost paper-like material. There are two tiny slices on the bottom of the logo that appear to have been put there purposely to make the logo fit better on the helmet.
Apparently the helmet was re-conditioned because Riddell and Kra-Lite has been double stamped on the back of the helmet and the rubber suspension gaskets are white instead of gray which Riddell stopped using in the early 70’s when they stopped painting the inside of the helmets gray.
Any reconditioning was done at Riddell. The way you see the helmet is the way I got it.
The price is $1400.00 OR BEST OFFER.
I have attached some scans and if additional scans or info is needed, please email me at flaa1a@comcast.net and all emails will be answered.
