Ray Lankford 1998 Issued bat Cardinals

    Better photos will follow:

This is a 1998 Ray Lankford C243 LS Brown Barrell/Rose handled game issued bat. I was saving this one for an autograph display - but considering Ray Ray has vanished, I am not holding out hope. There are bat rack scrapes - that do nothing to diminish the beauty of this bat. #16 and the weight/length is written in black on the knob and #16 in gold paint pen on the barrell end...uncupped. I am at work, and this photo is all I have until I get home - just trying to get the ball rolling. I will post more photos this evening.

I was watching footage of McGwire's 62nd homer the other day, and Lankford is using a bat exactly like this one is his at bats during that game. There is no MLB stamp on the barrell, and the Louisville Slugger font is the newer, squatty type. If you have questions, I can be reached at

    david.patek@mercy.net or
    bigtruck260@centurytel.net

    I am asking $75 firm

    Thanks.

Tell me about it. I figured you would have snatched it up.
You have bats that are just like this one - so I figured I would throw it out there, and whoever wanted it...

I paid about $100 for it a few years ago, and never really had a place for it. Don't worry Donnie, I have a few more of his that I may part with one day.

          LOL...no big deal.

i do have one like this.

i just thought it was funny that this lasted all of about an hour and 15 minutes.

for years i seriously thought i was the only person that wanted Ray's stuff.

Someone has his AS stuff - someday we will locate it. I think people are just beginning to think of Ray as a good baseball player - he was #20 on the Cards all time list...not bad for a franchise with tradition like STL.

He kinda got the shaft when he retired in '04. Oh well, he has a NLCS ring.

I agree, Ray never really got his "props" as a player. Maybe some of it was due to the timeframe he played. People forget that he hit more HR's out of old Busch than anybody......He did get the shaft at the end which is why I suspect we don't here from him at WWU, etc.
