    1965 Mets Game USed Bat

1965 New York Mets game used bat of Chris Cannizzaro. Chris wore the number 8 while with the Mets until Yogi Berra arrived and Chris was given #5. This L74 model bat shows outstanding use and has his #5 on the knob in vintage marker that is worn and faded but still legible. There are several bat rack streaks (red and black), Pine tar on the uncracked handle. Ball marks, seam marks, and cleat marks are visible all over the barrel surfaces. This bat was retired from use when a 10 inch sliver broke off the back side of the barrel (does not affect the eye appeal when displayed) guaranteed not to roll off any smooth surface ! The bats measures 34.5 inches. Cannizzaro was a member of the 1962 Inaugural Mets team and was elected to the all star team in 1969. Asking $175 shipped, serious offers considered for this rare bat.

Forgot to mention 1965 was Cannizzaro's last season with the Mets and the only year he ever wore the number 5.
