Time to sell my ump shirt. For sale is an American League game worn umpire shirt worn by Durwood Merrill. This shirt does not have numbers on it so it dates from 1976 to 1979. Merill was an ump in the AL from 1976 to 1999. He worked over 5,500 games including:
Disco Night at Comisky
Jack Morris' no hitter
Nolan Ryan's 6th no hitter
1988 World Series
1984 and 1995 All Star Game
ALCS in 1981, 83, 83, 87, 92, 97
ALDS in 1996, 98, 99
He is a member of the Texas Baseball Hall of Fame.
The shirt itself is worn by no holes or tears. The AL logo is loose in a 2" section. There are stampings in the color. Some are faded. A "V" is written on the manufacturing tag. It is made by Hathaway. Durwood's initials "D.M." are written on the front bottom of the shirt.
Sorry for the poor picture. The phone camera isn't as good as I thought it would be.
