    Hi Dan:

It sounds like you have an awesome item. My advice would be to consign it to Game Used Universe for their spring auction. I was quite happy with the results of the items I consigned in the last auction. Simply check out the banner on the home page.

    Good luck,

    Todd

    Thanks for the replies everyone.

Someone asked where his autograph is: He signed his name on the number on the back of his jersey.

Condition: It was only worn that game. Bought a scratch off for $1.00 during the 1st inning of the game. It said I won. I had to meet at a certain area of Busch Stadium with anyone else who had a winning scratch off ticket. Some Busch Stadium employee took us down to a big office during the 8th inning. One by one we walked to a desk in the front of the room and randomly picked up a blank, sealed envelope. Inside the envelope was a players number. I may have been 3rd or 4th to walk up to the table and just picked an envelope. When I opened it in front of everyone, the place went crazy. It was pretty cool. After the 3rd out of the ninth inning, they walked us out onto the field and lined us up on the first base line. We had to hold up the piece of paper (from the envelope) with the player's number on it so each player knew who to walk to. The players were sitting in the dugout waiting for all of us to line up. Out walked Albert Pujols and he took off his jersey and flipped it over and signed it and gave me his gloves and wrist band. A team photographer was standing next to us. The following year is when the picture appeared in the Cardinals game day magazine. A coworker happend to give it to me. So, yes, it was only worn for one game.

I will post some pics tomorrow of everything in the set.

If you guys can give me a heads up on who is and isn't reputable for consigning to I would appreciate it. I do have an E-bay account so I guess I could put it up on there. I don't really like the idea of a 60 day auction. Looking for either a quick sale or a shorter auction.

Great site. Thanks for everyone's replies.

    Dan Williams

    Dan,

I would never be able to afford the jersey or lot, so if you decide to sell the wristband or batting gloves seperately, please send me an email at stcardinalsfan@yaoo.com to let me know how much you would like for them. Thanks.

Pretty rock solid provenance there...How does a fat $100 bill sound?

I wouldn't sell it - but if I needed the money, I would list it at 4-5 K on eBay and allow bidders to suibmit offers. I would accept nothing less than $2500 - What kind of wear does it show? Was it only worn for that game?

Where is the autograph? How does that look?

I am certain some folks will let you know who NOT to consign it too...

Man, what a great item. I would love to see pictures.

Guys, I need your help/insight. I have a game worn Albert Pujols jersey from Cardinals vs Phillies game played on 8/23/2003 (Saturday 12:20pm). This was the "Jersey off our backs" day at the ballpark. Along with his jersey, he gave me his sweatband that he wore on his wrist and both of his batting gloves. I also have the ticket stub from the game AND I have the St. Louis Cardinals Gameday magazine that was released in 2004, issue No. 4 where I appear on page 19 along with Albert Pujols. The picture shows both of us looking down (as he's signing his jersey that he's holding in his hand).

I'm looking to sell the entire package: the game worn jersy which is signed by him, the 2 batting gloves he wore during the game, his wrist sweatband, the ticket stub from the game and the Cardinals Game Day magazine that has the picture of ALbert and I on page 19. The magazine and ticket stub are mint condition.

Wondering what the value is. Is this entire package worth four to five thousand?

For non-believers, you can go to GOOGLE and type in: Dan Williams and Albert Pujols. That will take you to the Cardinals Dugout website and you can page down to the 8/23/03 posting where it confirms this information. Again, I am Dan Williams. I am the person in the picture which is the same picture that's in the Cardinals Gameday magazine on page 19.
Working...
