Jersey dave i am a bit interested in the yankees items that you just mentioned but i have 2 questions.

1 what are you asking for them?
2 I am a bit concerend with the tagging on them, i have quite a few strawberry jerseys from the same years as yours and have seen many other players such as jeter and bernies from the same years, and none of yours have the players name on the tagging can you please explain, they have the year but no name? russel always puts the name on these tags!!

Re: Sandy Alomar 1990 Rookie Home Jersey

FYI, Sandy Alomar made appearances in 1988 and 1989 with the San Diego Padres, thus making 1990 his THIRD season.

Re: Deion Sander, Tino Martinez, Eric Byrnes & More

Sometimes I wonder if Eric's effort to make people think before they post is really working.

1990 was Alomar's rookie year. Let's completely ignore the fact that in 1990 he won the Rookie of the Year award (hard to do if you aren't a rookie), let's take a look at the MLB rules pertaining to what constitutes a rookie:

"A player shall be considered a rookie unless, during a previous season or seasons, he has (a) exceeded 130 at-bats or 50 innings pitched in the Major Leagues; or (b) accumulated more than 45 days on the active roster of a Major League club or clubs during the period of 25-player limit (excluding time in the military service and time on the disabled list)."

By the end of the 1989 season Alomar had played in a total of 8 games, accumulating a total of 20 at-bats. He did not accumulate more than 45 days on the active roster during the period of the 25player limit. Ipso facto, Alomar was considered by Major League Baseball to be a rookie in 1990. Hence he won the Rookie of the Year Award in 1990.

If you two want to invent and use your own definition of "rookie", then go ahead but don't imply complete rubbish like "everyone knows" 1990 wasn't Alomar's rookie season.

As for the tagging on David's Yankees/Steiner jerseys, Suave the answer to your accusation is that Russell does not "always" put the name on the tags, regardless of what your extensive Darryl Strawberry collection tells you.

                Currently on the Steiner site:

"Bernie Williams 2004 Game-used Road Jersey
                #WILLBJERGU2004RO - $7500.00"

no name on the Russell tag, just a year. I guess Steiner must be selling a fake Bernie Williams huh?

"Tom Gordon 2004 Game-used Road Jersey
                #GORDTJERGU2004RO - $2500.00"

no name on the Russell tag, just a year. Holy smokes!

Tell me, how is Russell supposed to tag spares? That is, when the Yankees order spares and therefore don't have a specific player in mind for the jersey, what name is Russell supposed to put? Ever think that jerseys tagged with just the year were spares that were later given to players?

                Rudy.

Re: Deion Sander, Tino Martinez, Eric Byrnes & More

First I would like to say KingJammy your right about a few things. I did make a mistake on the Sandy Alomar being a rookie as far as 1990, but you can also see why that assumption was made, due to the fact he did actually get some game play in 1988 and 1989, yet due to the rules he is awared rookie of the year in 1990 even thought he did make major league appearences 2 years previously.

And that does make a lot of sense as far as the Yankees having spares which would explain no name tagging!!!

Also another common mistake I see people make is not reading a post thoroughly and for the life of me I don't understand why?
Please tell me when I called his items fake? I questioned the tagging on the items, but for mere education puposes. So find where I said fake? Please do me that favor?

YOU ARE MOST CERTAINLY RIGHT ABOUT PEOPLE MAKING UNINFORMED STATEMENTS, "CUZ EVERYONE ON GAMEUSEDUNIVERSE HAS SEEN YOU MAKE PLENTY"

The difference between me and you is I can admit to when I was wrong on something, but when people proved you wrong on something you never respond again to that thread.

MAYBE NEXT TIME BEFORE MAKING THE COMMENT ABOUT ERIC WEEDING THESE PEOPLE OUT YOU SHOULD LOOK REAL GOOD AND HARD AT YOURSELF, YOU MIGHT BE THE NEXT ONE TO BE WEEDED OUT!!!

***QUOTE OF SUAVE'S IRRESPONSIBLE POST REMOVED***

You are kidding right? Let me see, how many jerseys did Steiner have posted for sale without name tags. How many jerseys in Steiner's/Grey Flannel's auction not have name's on the year tags? Now all of the sudden your questions my items???

Lets see, Sveum only played in 30 games for the Yankees in 1998. I believed he was called up later in the season... Wouldn't he need a jersey made for him? I doubt the Yankees really cared if everyone of their jerseys had a proper name tag just so you Suave would not have to question it. I am sure every equipment manager everywhere is saying ...hey, we had better tag this jersey right, we have better not take this patch oof, or do a name and # change just so the game worn ejrsey market will not question this jersey later on!! I am sure that equipmant managers nationwide do/or don't do things just for us..

In my opinion, I will trust and stand behind everything that I own period.

As for Rookie of the Year.... Don't blame me for MLB saying Alomar was Rookie of the Year... granted he did play a tiny bit for the Padres.. I am not the obe who named him Rookie of the Year... you don't like the rule.. Call the MLB and have them change the rule just for you.

My phone # and contact info is right on my site... you want to question me or my items... please feel free to give me a call. I am available anytime.
