Available is a 1976 Orioles (Orange top) jersey of one time Oriole "Rookie of the Year," Ron Hansen. According to my Orioles sources, Ron (who last played in the Majors in 1972 with Kansas City & made a home in the Baltimore area) pitched batting practice @ Memorial Stadium during the mid to late 1970's before getting a coaching job with the Milwaukee Brewers. The jersey is a Wilson (size #44) with all original lettering/numbering (#63) with the exception of the "Hansen" nameplate being sewn directly on the back.
The lettering of the name "Darr" is covered by this nameplate. Obviously this jersey was first issued to pitcher Mike Darr who eventually went to the Toronto Blue Jays in the 1977 Expansion Draft (and whose son played briefly in the majors as well before unfortunately being killed in an auto accident a few years ago). As a "bonus" the jersey is autographed by Hansen nicely in black sharpie on the front tail.
While not from Hansen's playing days, this would still make a nice addition to any Orioles memorabilia collection. Price is $195 ppd. Contact me at whhp72@yahoo.com with your interest.
