1984 USFL NJ Generals White Panel Football

    Hi Everyone,

I'm going to need the help of an experienced USFL collector on this one. Today I picked up a Wilson USFL Autographable football (three white panels) with Chet Simmons Commissioner.

The ball has been autographed by 34 members of the 1984 NJ Generals and two others. The two others are Timmy White, #82 on the '84 LA Express, and Ray or Roy Bradley #99. I can't find any mention of Bradley anywhere. The other 34 signers of this ball are:

    78 Murtha, Greg
    31 Patterson, Alonzo
    3 Grupp, Bob
    72 Madsen, Lynn
    16 Knapple, Jeff
    87 Brown, Norris
    24 Daniels, Terry
    71 Woodland, Tom
    80 Knight, Danny
    51 Naylor, Frank
    26 Barbaro, Gary
    57 Miller, John
    17 Sipe, Brian
    34 Walker, Herschel
    82 Collins, Clarence
    62 Lapham, Dave
    76 Millard, Bryan
    73 Mackie, Doug
    84 Hackett, Marcus
    38 Harmon, Clarence
    75 Mattiace, Frank
    53 Leopold, Bob
    64 Harris, Wayne
    50 Horn, Bob
    81 Spek, Jeff
    30 Pegues, Rod
    90 Gilbert, Freddie
    29 Williams, Mike
    56 Harper, Willie
    74 Byrne, Jim
    70 Jewell, John
    9 Ruzek, Roger
    47 Joyce, John
    96 Lockette, James

I'm looking to sell this ball as it is in good condition and I'm assuming is extremely rare. However, I have absolutely no idea as to its value. The ball is fairly clean and has some cracking in a couple places. I believe that this ball would likely hold air (but I'm not going to attempt it).

Photos of this ball can be seen at http://s42.photobucket.com/albums/e3...r/USFL%20Ball/

If anyone is interested in this ball or can provide assistance please email me at tim@tjsportsmn.com

    Thanks in advance!

Re: 1984 USFL NJ Generals White Panel Football

    Hi Everyone,

I still have no idea as to the value or rarity of this ball. Since I wasn't able to get any help I've just decided to sell it on ebay and let the people decide. I'm assuming that it is pretty rare as it is original and was signed over 20 years ago as part of a league and team that only lasted three seasons. The NJ Generals ball is now located on ebay as auction #270004614601 and can be found here:

Thanks to those of you who check it out or decide to bid. I would also consider offers on it if it does not sell.

As a reminder, my other auctions are ending in the next couple of days and this includes my Torii Hunter lot with the Game Worn 2004 jersey, 2003 Game Used and Autographed cleats, 2003 Rawlings Game Used bat, and an autographed baseball. I also have a Joe Mays jersey, Sam Dente game used bat, Green Bay Packers autographed football, and a 2003 Minnesota Twins team signed baseball.

Thanks everyone, have a safe and happy 4th!
