    Chris-
I have a customer who is interested in purchasing an original, unaltered Pujols game used bat. Previously, you offered a Pujols bat here on the Forum that when questioned, you indicated you had added additional pen markings on the knob and also added additional pine tar to conceal a repair you made to it. With this particular bat, can you please clarify if the markings on the knob are original or if you added them, and likewise, if you have added additional pine tar and/or repaired this bat?

If any other Forum reader(s) have a Pujols bat that may meet my needs, please contact me at the email below.

    Thanks.

        Rudy-
I have a customer who desires a Louisville Pujols, and this particular bat may very well meet his needs. Before contacting my customer, however and having him send me payment, I'm simply asking for additional information to avoid any possible issues at a later date.

Rudy, are you aware that this particular seller offered another Pujols bat on this site last year, and upon questioning, it was discovered that he glued a completely broken bat back together, added additional pinetar to the bat to conceal the repair and added stars to the knob. Chris did not initially disclose this information in his ebay listing. As such, I am simply asking if the bat is the same as last used by Pujols. No harm intended.

As I always write, "DO YOUR HOMEWORK" before making any purchase of game used equipment. In this case, school is in session. Now, how about some answers?

I'm sure we all remember the other Pujols bat saga. I'm all for doing your homework but I am positive that all of Chris' contact information can be found in his posts and on his site. Did you try contacting him privately? I don't know why you have to keep calling this out in a public forum.

In regards to Chris Boyd, let me tell you my saga with him and you decide what to think after reading it. Back in May of 2006 I sent to him two Houston Astros warm up jerseys, rainbow sleeve style, Mfg by Goodmans, with the numbers 34 on the back of each one. I asked Chris his opinion on each one of them and he replied that in his opinion they were once worn by Nolan Ryan and then sent to the minors where the names were removed and then reused at the minor league level. I asked Chris if he could help restore them to which he replied he could. It is now August. I have not heard from him in months. He will not return my emails nor will he return my phone calls. I advised him 3 weeks ago via email that if I did not receive the jerseys back by August 1, 2006 I would consider them to be stolen property. He replied back and told me to send him $10 for shipping. Which I did. The check cleared my bank on July 26, 2006. August 1 has come and gone. Do you think I have received my jerseys back? If you answered "No" then you would be correct. Have I received any further communication from Chris? No. Despite repeated emails and phone calls. Chris, there comes a time when you have to be a man. This is that time. I am a hard working person who participates in this hobby for recreation and fun. I spend what I can without sacrificing the mortgage or my familys future. Chris, You have taken the fun out of this for me. I think it is disgusting and dispicable that you would conduct business like this. Now, with all that being said, I sent the jerseys to you on a gentlemens agreement and for that I take the blame. Had I known that you doctored a Pujols bat that would have spoken volumes about your ethics and credibility and I certainly would not have sent the jerseys to you. Forum members, after reading my saga and knowing full well the events surrounding the Pujols bat I know leave it up to you to decide whether or not to do business with Chris Boyd. Chris, you have my email address and phone number. I eagerly await your communication as much as I eagerly await the return of my items.

              Howard Perch,

I have not received an e-mail from you since your reply about sending $10 for return shipping. I did in fact have two nameplates created from my inventory of removed nameplates. I also just received your voicemail. This is the first voicemail in sometime I have received from you. I just left you a voicemail with an apology for not sending them yesterday. I returned from the National in Anaheim later than expecter Sunday, and had to leave for Louisiana again early this morning. The 2 jerseys will be returned first thing Friday morning upon my return to Houston. Again, the last e-mail I have from you is your reply to my request for return shipping. The next communication I received is from you today by voicemail. I did intend to send your jerseys Monday (yesterday) as my wife advised a check was received from you while I was in California. I did forget to send them, that was my mistake! You should try calling if you do not get an e-mail reply! Maybe your e-mail is not functioning properly.

              Thanks,

                Howard Wolf,

Thanks for the question on the Pujols bat! I assume your public questioning is out of sincere intent, but in the future, I do have e-mail and phone number listed on all my posts and multiple pages on my site.

As for this Pujols. this bat has had not restoration whatsoever. If it had, I would have marked it accordingly. The bat was obtained while in California with GAI authenticity and PSA/DNA authentication. I spoke with John Taube at length regarding the bat. Honestly, the bat is awesome. I have never seen a Pujols match Jeff Scott's recommended Pujols Bat Buyers Guide as well as this one. It is truely a very nice bat! I am sure Jeff Scott and others like Rob Steinmetz have seen equally nice bats, but of the 9-10 Pujols ats I have handled, this is te best. I hope I answered your questions. If you would like to discuss your customer's needs outside of a public area, by all means send me an e-mail.

                Thanks,

                Chris

PS - I seam to have a problematic history with people names Howard!

                  Chris:
Thank you for your reply. In fact, that is record time for you to reply to anything of mine. My email is functioning perfectly as is my telephone both of which you have failed to use as a communication tool since May. If you have indeed fabricated 2 nameplates I have no problem paying you for your work as I have mentioned in previous emails. You and I spoke last by phone in June at which point I advised you, as I have in emails, that if you were too busy to assist I would completely understand as I am busy too. And I know what that is like. If I do indeed receive my jerseys back as you state then I have no problem going back on this site and informing everyone of that but it will not change the fact that you do not return my phone calls or emails. That is a fact. And in all honesty, after 3 1/2 months I could have learned how to restore the jerseys myself! 3 1/2 months to put on 2 nameplates? 31/2 months to restore a 1906 Pirates jersey, understandable. But not 2 name plates on an Astros jersey. In fact, this is the first time I have heard anything from you about you putting a name plate on the jerseys. All I knew from you was that they were at your seamstress and had been there since May. And that is all I knew. Had you responded to my emails all of this could have been avoided. But that is your doing. It is too bad all of this had to be aired out in a public forum. But that is also your doing. Thanks again for the reply and the update.

                    Howard,

I have just tried calling you twice on your number that I did not have until you left me a voicemail an hour or so ago. I left you a voicemail. I am sitting by my cell phone as we speak. Please call me at 713-385-1155. I know you and I have talked in the past, but did not have your number available or I would have called you from Anaheim last week. I do apologize for the delay! I also just reviewed my personal laptop and I have no e-mails from you since 7/19/2006. I have been receiving other e-mails, so I do not know what happened. I would like to wrap this up outside of this forum as I am sure not everyone wants to read this. If you call me we can discuss this. As it appears you are new to the forum, I would suggest you signed your posts with contact e-mail and/or phone numbers. Also, I do respond as quickly as possible to all e-mails and phone calls. Please give me more than just a few minutes in the future. Next time, instead of assuming I am not replying, try calling earlier as a secondary means of contact, since there may infact be reliability of e-mail issues!

                    Thanks,

Just wanted to point out in your original post that you had named Chris Cavalier. You are dealing with Chris Boyd. Not trying to but in but thought it would be necessary so there would be no confusion with other members reading this thread.
