I currently have 21 jerseys listed and a few more to follow next week. I have also listed a Frank Thomas autograph team issued bat with team LOA and I am about to list a 1959 World Series program and ticket stub.

I think the coolest of the jersey is the 1983 Chicago White Sox Home Bat Boy Jersey. Neat jersey from what at the time was a special season in Chicago.

Our second batch of White Sox game used jerseys and bats ends Tuesday and Wednesday night on eBay. Featured is a Carlton Fisk game used bat, David Wells game used jersey and a Ron Kittle game used jersey and one team issued. There also is our last 1959 World Series ticket stub from game one listed!

I am just curious why you keep the bidders private?

          Thanks,

          Glen

Glen as discussed on Game Used Universe many times in past discussions, here is my general policy for using private auctions:

When I pay eBay generally $500.00 - $1000.00 a month to list and sell items on their site (this doesn't count fees I pay to PayPal which are often a higher per month figure) I feel it is my business who my customers are.

Why should I pay $19.95 to feature an auction or even just basic listing fees and commissions and then someone can email my high bidder or under-bidder to attempt to sell to them a similar item? I know it is against eBay rules for a 3rd party to email my customer, but we all knows it takes place.

I pay for my auction, and I keep the bidders to myself and eBay only. That way no one can take the information of my customer base and email them to look at their similar auction (which is legal) or to sell to them off-eBay (which is against eBay rules).

The other reason is in the past (usually when I was mainly selling UDA autographs) I found people would email my customers and tell them the item they were bidding on was not genuine. Against eBay rules, but it cost me a few sales years ago (around seven years ago when I started using the private feature) and I stuck with it. Arm-chair authenticators will not be able to directly email my customers and I am sticking to that policy.

I hope this answered your question, let me know if you have any others.

Thanks for the reply. I was just curious. I know some people stay away from these auctions because they think shill bidding is going on. I am not at all saying you do this but to some it could be perceived this way.

I heard you have a GREAT reputation and your response is good enough for me.

              Again I was just curious.

              Thanks again,

              Glen

Glen, I get to hear that all the time. If eBay has a problem, they will contact me. I think after over 13,000 transactions on eBay if they have a problem they will contact me.
