Mike Schmidt 1981 Home Uniform for sale

I think I'm ready to sell this, so now is as good a time as any...

It's Mike Schmidt's 1981 (MVP year) game worn home jersey and matching pants. Pictures are attached AND at the links below.

    Go to http://mywebpages.comcast.net/darylv...%20Jersey1.JPG
    and

    First the jersey....
All original, size 46, set 2. It is known that Schmidt ordered 46's in the early 1980s as his cold weather jerseys, so he had extra room for something underneath. All proper tagging is present. Also present is the extra button and loop on the inside bottom flaps. Schmidt had this custom done to his jerseys to keep the bottom of the jersey together. The jersey shows light but consistent use. Since this was his cold weather shirt, it was most likely only worn at the beginning and end of the season. Lastly, it is autographed on the front. A Phillies and uniform expert that most of us know from this forum has seen this jersey and it passed his test with flying colors.

    The pants...
Size 35, set 2. All proper tagging is present. Belt comes with pants also. The pants show great use.

I'm asking $9250, which includes shipping and insurance. Email me at darylv1@comcast.net if interested or if you have questions.

Re: Mike Schmidt 1981 Home Uniform for sale

Price has been lowered to $8600, which includes fedex shipping.

I really don't want to send this off to Lelands, Grey Flannel, etc. I'd much rather sell it to one of you folks. I've had fantastic luck so far on this site with a lot of my items ending up in the hands of true collectors and fans of the hobby. One item is even going to a museum! I'd like for this uniform to have a similar fate to the rest of the items I've sold.

It is truly an outstanding jersey, and to have the matching pants makes it that much better. The last full Schmidt uniform I recall seeing on the market was in a Grey Flannel auction about 5 years ago - a 1980 Home.
This uniform isn't from a World Series year, but it was an MVP year, and was statisticly Schmidt's best season. If it weren't for the strike shortened season and Bill Madlock (who batted .344), he would have had a legitimate shot at the Triple Crown. Not only did he lead the NL in home runs and RBIs, he also led in slugging %, on base %, runs scored, total bases, walks, and extra base hits.

I can provide references for both myself and the jersey to anyone with serious interest.

Additionally, if you are interested in other Schmidt items, I have some more higher end items that I'm selling (both game used and non-game used), including his high school yearbook, used golf bag and cap, signed Ohio University jacket that may have belonged to Schmidt, and tons of other stuff.

E-mail me at darylv1@comcast.net with any questions.

      Daryl,

That's a great uniform. I was bidding on it on eBay, but I saw that Ed Dolan bought it today for your BUY IT NOW price!! Congrats on a great sale and continued good luck with your sales.

          Daryl,

I agree ... it makes it a bit easier to part with an item when you get an incredible price for it. Nice going!

          Best,
