The NBA used Wilson basketballs thru the 1982-83 season. In the fall of 1983, they went to Spalding game balls. Larry O'Brien was still the commish at this time, so the new Spaldings had his signature on them. I think Stern took over early in 1984. Not sure if they used the O'Brien stamped Spaldings for the entire year or just part of the 83-84 season.
