Thought I would try something different on GUU - would love to sell some of these bats to make room for some Yankees GU Items - I will listen to all LEGITIMATE OFFERS - bats include Clemente ( 65-66 ) - PSA Letter - nice use - uncracked - perfect #21 on knob............ Stargell ( 73-75 ) - repaired handle crack that you can't see and great use................ Brock ( 1972 All Star Bat )................ Perez ( 73-75 ) - great use light handle crack................. Bench ( 73-75 )- MEARS A8 - great use......................... 77-79 Yaz LS R206 - taped handle - cracked - "Game 8" on the knob - very few Yaz bats like this pop up in the market............75-76 Rose Adirondack 69A - slight crack - great use - #14 on the knob....All other pictured are sold.

great bats, but how is this sale any different? Are LEGITIMATE OFFERS, $100,$250, $500 or $1500?

This is why I think prices should be mandatory for every item listed for sale on GUU.

I emailed Jim when the bats were first listed and he emailed back with a price list. I am sure he would do the same for you. I purchased a Winfield bat from him recently and it is the best i've seen.

Well - if you need to know the truth - I will tell you. It all has to do with the internet and Al Gore - you see, Al Gore didn't invent the internet - I did - in 1969 - and I knew GUU would be around someday and thus I joined in 1969..........

To be really honest - I don't know why - I think it has to do with how Chris Cavalier set up Forum Moderators and Contributing Experts - he probably just posted a very early date for those people......Jim

I don't blame Jim for stating Legitimate offers. I once had an offer of $75 to purchase a game used jersey I asking $595 for OBO.

I do not mind him asking for legitimate offers either, but not all collectors are bat or jersey experts, there are many newbies in the hobby, and may not know exactly what a specific item is worth. In two peoples minds a legitimate offer could be hundreds of dollars apart, even more on a high dollar item. Now I know, do your research, bla bla bla before buying any item. But reading the forum and specifically the for sale section is a great way to learn about current prices of specific items, but that is not possible to do when prices are not listed. This is in no way a knock on Jim or his items, just an in gereral rant on how prices should be listed with items one is selling for the benifit of everyone.

Your situation is different as your jersey had a specific price or OBO and Jim has no starting price to base a offer on. No matter what, your almost always going to get that one fool who offers you pennys on the dollar for your item. Not much you can do about that except say no.
