How about instituting a rule that requires members to post prices for the items they are selling on this forum?

I think thats a ridiculous idea. Why can't someone take offers? If your really interested then you can hammer out a price with the seller.Whats wrong with starting the bartering process from the buyers point of view?

Agreed. It also keeps the door opened to trade possibilities, an idea which has regrettably been phased out of the hobby. I wish there was more of that. The old timers like myself fondly recall the days of trading.

Perhaps a new section could be created in addition to Items for Sale and Items Wanted to include Items for Trade. I have tried both posting prices and not posting prices when I have sold items on this board and both has it's downside. If you don't post a price than you have to be prepared to answer possibly 100 emails of those interested asking the price. However when you do post a price you usually get an equally amount of emails from potential buyers trying to knock your price down. I have heard that some folks have been criticized for putting an item up on Ebay before offering it to the members on the site. I can see to a point why they may be doing this because 9 out of 10 times a higher price is paid on Ebay for an item and you don't feel obligated to reply to a message from someone offering you $200 for an item you are intending to get $500 for. I for one do greatly appreciate when a seller posts his/her asking price so at least I know a ballpark figure of what they are looking at. I won't waste somone's time offering less than half of what they are asking as many buyers do. I do not consider this forum to be a flea market as such where some buyers offers compared to your asking price are down right insulting. If someone is asking to much for an item and have posted the price with their listing I feel fellow collectors should respect that persons asking price. Perhaps they priced themselves out of a sale but they shouldn't be subjected to ridiculous offers or sarcastic remarks as some are. A much more important thing I would think for a seller to do is post some pictures of the items they are selling. I must say that if I come upon a post with no picture or price of an item I am more apt to completely pass it by. I think some "sellers" enjoy coming on the site simply to brag about a certain item they have acquired and have no intentions in selling it. This practice is entirely fine in my opinion but should be reserved for a different section under Game Used Memorabilia and not the Items for Sale section. Again all just my opinion.
            Thanks
            Scott

              Hi Everyone,

I know it has been said before, but my biggest problem is when a person emails to request information or says they are interested in an item they don't respond back after the info is sent. I've had several people not even respond to emails.

In all seriousness, if a person is going to request information/pricing for an item at least have the courtesy to respond with a simple "Yes, I'm interested." or "No, I'm not interested at this time."

Those are my two cents, and I'm pretty sure there are others on the board that feel the way I do.

                Tim, I hear you.

Some folks need to show some common courtesy. I emailed a poster recently who was looking for a certain Mets GU item of a particular player and never got a responsed. I included a description and asking price.
