    hi matt,

still with ESM? i thought you had moved on to "MVP Marketing and Management"? that whole Arod Authenticated mess was crazy wasn't it?
i'm guessing that since you got Arod back, it was the "ASI" side of things that caused that whole debacle?

anyway, many on here may not be aware of the "game used football items from a player in the league". for those who are unaware, here's some background:

it seems you never went back to address the unanswered questions.

I don't even know what to say about the Steelers issues but we get all of our items from a player who has basically been a career back up. He started for a short period of time with Washington but he asked us not to tell his name.

As of MVP marketing, that is my brother. He was here at Elite, and has now started his own company.

            hi matt,

thanks for responding. regardless of who your source is, it's alarming to think that you simply take their items at face value without doing any due diligence on your end. you seem to be at a loss to explain how your source gave you "hines ward's cleats" yet ward himself said they weren't his cleats. let me provide some possible explanations:

            - your source is trying to make some extra cash by turning common player and/or unused items into star items. eg: a pair of spare cleats from a seattle backup all of a sudden become shaun alexander gamers.

            - your source has little idea as to what he's procuring. we've all seen athletes make mistakes.

whatever is going on, isn't it ultimately your responsibility to check each item before selling it and collecting the profits? do you blindly accept anything that any player or team source hands over?

your source gave you a pair of cleats. without doing any checking whatsoever, you sold them as hines wards'. ward himself said they weren't his cleats. (we'll ignore the fact that he also said the autograph didn't look like his). it doesn't take a rocket scientist to see that your source is mis-identifying items and you aren't bothering to check these items. if your source handed over a size 38 joe montana "gamer", i'm assuming you'd just dump it into an auction as well? it sounds like your source has found an easy way of making money by dumping items on someone who doesn't even bother checking them. it seems like everyone's winning except your buyers. your source makes money, you make money, and your buyer gets a pair of cleats that hines ward never even saw.

the alarming thing is that this isn't a one-time error. you recently sold 2 different styles of ordenez cleats marked as "world series gamers", yet only one style could be found in photos. how were you able to ascertain that the other pair were legit world series gamers? i assume you took ordenez's word for it? a few months back, you sold a 1995 blue jays candy maldonado game-worn jersey. remember that one? it had #00 on the back. maldonado never wore #00 in his entire career. how did you authenticate that one?

i don't care if joe montana himself met you in a parking lot with a trunk full of jerseys, it's still your responsibility to check every single one to make sure joe isn't mistaken or lying. if you have time to collect the profits, you have time to check the items.

your ad states you "obtain 99% of the items from athletes themselves", yet here you just stated you get most of your NFL items from a single source. something's not jiving. perhaps it'd be more accurate to state you "obtain 99% of your items from a single athlete"?

            esm, "only the best!" right?
