Game Used Peyton Manning Rookie Jersey!

I am taking serious offers on a 1998 game used peyton manning rookie jersey....the jersey shows excellent quarterback wear including sweat staining and puckering in the sleeve and shoulder areas, as well as light fraying on the nameplate on the back....the jersey has the correct logo athletic tagging from 1998..its the correct size 50...and it has the 98 year tag sewn in the tail.....i contacted B @ E Collectibles and emailed them pics of the tagging to compare to their 1998 Edjerrin james jersey and the tagging is exactly the same.....anyone interested can email me at wakeforest86@cox.net for very detailed pictures of the jersey and the tagging....if he wins the Super Bowl this jersey goes through the roof!

Jersey is blue..year tag patch is white with blue 98..i was informed by forum member MASAUCTION after sending him photos that year tag was wrong...that it should be navy blue with white 98...was told by B @ E Collectibled after i sent pics of tagging and jersey that it matched their James from 98..any thoughts?

I did bythe jersey from the seller on ebay....he guaranteed me it would pass MEARS....i asked for help about 2 weeks ago from the forum on colts tagging from 1998 and got NO response..did not mention it was a manning jersey...i sent the photos of the jersey to B @ E and they said it matched their 98 James jersey.....i did see the other jersey you posted with the blue year tag as well....what should i do..i guess submit it to MEARS?

If you truly have a guarantee that it will pass MEARS inspection then you should go ahead and submit it.
But that's an odd thing- what is the seller's definition of passing MEARS inspection? The mears system is a numbering system, not pass fail- so at what point would you be able to go back to the seller and say it did not pass inspection?

If it was determined that the wrong tag was affixed to it then points will be deducted from the overall score. If it gets for example an A3, will you get your money back? Or is that still considered by your seller, a passing grade?

(My post has nothing to do with the mears system- I'm merely telling you to make sure you know the terms of your guarantee from your seller so you don't have trouble down the road)

I had a situation recently which comes to mind- A few years ago I bought a jersey on ebay from someone who happens to be here on the forum. In the ebay listing it said Guaranteed To Pass Authentication Or Your Money Back!
Sure, time has passed, but recently I tried to consign the jersey and it did not pass authentication. I told the seller, who often posts on this forum and he said that since I was fine with the jersey all this time, it was no longer his problem even though he made the initial guarantee in his ebay listing.

I don't know who is right and who is wrong in my situation, (though I know what I would do if I were on the seller's side of my situation- I would always make it right because I would stand by anything I sold) but all I'm saying is, if there is a guarantee made by the seller on your Manning, you should act quickly and make sure you know how to find the seller in case there's a problem.

I greatly appreciate and respect your input....i will submit it to MEARS, but i honestly trust the integrity and judgement of others that i have sent pictures to like B @ E , as well as the seller i bought it from. No offense to MASAUCTION at all, but he is the ONLY one to say the year tag was wrong....and whose to say that this is not the correct tag...all other blue colts jerseys from 97 and 99 that i have seen in the big auction houses have the white tag like the manning i have...the one you pictured in your previous post is the ONLY one i have seen with the blue year tag..if any other forum members have pics of blue colts jerseys between the years of 97-99 with blue year tags i would appreciate their help..

I asked Mr. Robinson last night if he still has the Peyton Manning jersey he was trying to sell here with the tagging discussed in this thread.

He said the one in AMI is not his, so it would suggest he might still have his. I'd like to ask for some other shots of the jersey so we can take a look at it.

I also asked if the 2006 Saints items in AMI and Vintage are from him and his friend. Just curious.

When i get a response, i will post the answers here.
