1962 Durocher road jersey & undershirt, A+

Here is another A+ vintage flannel just on the market, Hall of Famer LEO DUROCHER'S 1962 Los Angeles Dodgers' game-used flannel and wool undershirt. Flannel is all-original and in A+ condition. Tim McAuliffe jersey, size 42. No. 2 on back. No discoloring or bleeding anywhere. Jersey shows wear as it has a 1960s-style small one-inch square patch inside. Undershirt is off-white with blue long sleeves. Three buttons on undershirt and with a (size) 44 stamped on front below buttons. Again, jersey is absolutely astonishing. Durocher was a coach for the Dodgers in 1962 under manager Walt Alston, another Hall of Famer. $8,000

hello randarino,

in looking at some pics of 61/62 dodger shirts, something struck me as a little odd about the front script on this durocher. it seems noticeably different than the script seen in pics. any ideas why?

Dave Grob from Mears was nice enough to email regarding this jersey and tells me:

"The thing folks need to understand is that the manufacturers for the Dodgers roads in 1962 can be found in both McAullife and Rawlings...I always invite people to look at the 1955 Brooklyn Dodgers team photo and you will see two different number font styles as well as indicative of two manufacturers as well."

I hope that clears anything questions up.
