The helmet was manufactured in February of 1995. In 1995, Darryl Strawberry wore #26 and in 1996, Andy Fox wore #26. When I purchased this helmet from Steiner Sports, they did not know which of the two wore the helmet, so they sold it as a #26 helmet. From researching online, it appears the numbers on the helmet match the 1996 style of numbers used in 1996 by the Yankees. If that is true, it is Andy Fox's 1996 helmet, which was the first year of the Yankees dynasty. If it was 95, it would be Darryl Strawberry's. Either way, you are getting an amazing collectors item from the Yankees. Inside the helmet there is a Steiner hologram and a Yankees-Steiner coa. The helmet shows nice game use on the outside with pine tar and other various dings from being placed inside the helmet rack after each at bat. Inside the helmet, there are heavy sweat stains and light pine tar inside the brim. The helmet has 26 on the brim and back along with the ABC/MLB logo on the back.
