man im telling you it's the same jersey, the ripon tag could have been covered with a nike tag to mak it more authentic also the tag that says "04" , im 99.9% positive those patches arent put on nike jerseys. and i know of a guy who sells nike patches of all colors and this guy could have easily gotten the sec patch from the athletic department as i have been able to get some from other schools, and maybe u you missed it but in the first post in this thread deacs86 said the jersey was signed. And JaMarcus Russell has always had elastic on the sleeves in every picture i've ever seen, this jersey isn't even the right cut. this jersey is obviously a fake.

      Joe,

You are now insinuating that he removed the Ripon tag and/or covered it with a Nike tag and then addded some patches? What proof do you have of this?

      Thanks,
      Dave

Just so you are all clear..the jersey on ebay is NOT the team issued one I had...the one one ebay is completely different, and its a shame that once again forum members start making accusations without information....i do NOT know the seller, but have no reason to doubt what he has...it is tagged exactly like other 2004 Nike LSU jerseys that I have had...like i said I do not even know the seller, and once again certain members start rumors that will only discourage others from joining the forum....do your homework...you should have contacted the seller through ebay as he has returned all of my emails...

deacs, members on here, including myself, have tried to get information from you to no avail. how can anyone do their homework when you ignore their questions? once again, i'd like to get some information from you regarding your bonds jersey. here are my questions:

          1) you said the jersey has "moderate wear". if it has moderate wear, why are you selling it as "game issued?"

          2) did you originally buy the jersey as "game used", "game issued", or something else?

2 simple questions that require 2 simple answers. help me do my homework.

          rudy.

Ibought the Bonds as team issued...possibly worn...the seller wanted to be safe because he could not confirm whether Bonds wore the jersey...i have no confirmation that he wore the jersey either, but it id def team issued, and does show signs of light wear....hope that helps

I haven't seen anyone mention that the fishnet area of the jersey is completely different on the Ripon jersey than it is on the one in the Getty photo. In the Getty pic, the fishnet portion of the jersey has a rectangular shape. In the Ripon jersey the fishnet tapers all the way up to the collar. The places where the SEC and Nike logos go is all fishnet.
I thought maybe this is a practice jersey, but I'm pretty sure Russell would have worn red non-contact practice jerseys.

                deacs,

thanks for your response. i'm sure it was very helpful to any potential customers.

most in this hobby are well aware that collecting inherantly necessitates leaps of faith. we know that, unless we personally saw an athlete take the jersey off their back and hand it to us after a game, we can never state with 100% certainty that a jersey was game worn. we do our homework though to try to minimize the risks and faith required.

that said, i'm curious why, when the previous seller sold the jersey as game-issued saying it was "possibly worn", you chose to instead sell the jersey solely as "game worn" and not even mention that you had bought it as "game issued"? as you're aware, the difference in cost between a game issued jersey and a game-worn jersey is substantial. you paid a game-issued price and tried to sell for a game-used price without disclosing that the jersey was indeed originally sold to you as game-issued.

in your original ad, you said it had "moderate wear". now it's become "light wear". is the wear on the jersey somehow decreasing as time goes on?

one final question: given that your original ad for the bonds didn't state that you bought it as game-issued, and you only brought it up after the fact, can you please tell me if you've bought any other items as "game issued" and then offered them here as "game used"? were any of your "game worn" LSU jerseys originally bought as "game or team issued"?

                thanks very much,

                rudy.

all of the LSU jerseys i sold were def game used except the Jamarcus Ripon jersey that was team issued...as far as the Bonds 1989 goes like most people I bought it as def team issued, showing good wear...i think with many jerseys it is a "leap of faith:, but i get tired of getting hammered on questions of game use so i guess from now on unless it has a kletter from the player it has to be represented as team issued showing signs of wear...what do you think?

I think you have to start being honest with the people on this board. Not just when they call you on it.

Eric...i think you have it out for me personally...your constant emails and continued questioning of all of my items...how come you don't scrutinize others items all the time...bottom line is that this is YOUR forum..as you have told me you are the moderator and i guess that gives you the right to do what you please....i know firsthand from some major collectors and dealers that they will never sell or post on this forum because of your need to question everything , and to insist on getting information that is none of your business, yet you continue to pursue to the end of the world.....since you are the "moderator" and its basically your baby i will save you any more aggrevation..and more importantlyany more "withhunts" and will remove myself from the forum...please take my name off the forum member list, and i will no longer post any items...since they are all bad..like the Brees practice jersey you bought from me...im sure other forum memebrs who are your buddies will enjoy slamming me in response to this post, but rest assured getting off the forum for good will save me alot of aggrevation since I have met some very genuine and fun collectors......dont email me again and insist on getting info from me that is ABSOLUTELY none of your business...you have succeeded in getting rid of yet another person from this forum...i wish all of those people who ihave sold to, and traded with, and bought from the best of luck and i will be sure to stay in touch with all of you...off the "fabulous forum"

Good luck finding another place to sell your questionable items. Scott- you are the one who has to take a look at yourself. You should ask yourself why you weren't truthful with the items you tried to sell people here.

Your stories changed with every post.

And yes, a few months ago I bought a practice jersey from you. You said it was used, but I bought it assuming your story was false and it was issued. You had so many items that you claimed were used and then eventually you lowered the price and admitted they weren't, that in order for me to be okay with the transaction I had to assume it wasn't what you were claiming.

Other people around here may not know to do that. That's why there's nothing wrong with asking questions. If we didn't ask questions, you would have ripped people off here and I won't let that happen.

If like you said others are hesitant to sell here because I and others ask questions, then I would assume they would have problems answering the questions. They wouldn't be welcome here either. There are many people who buy and sell on these forums with no problems at all. Anyone who is honest is welcome around these parts. Take your act somewhere else Scott.

Good luck, and I really hope you can learn from the repeated mistakes you have made representing your items and getting caught each time. Please remember, for every quick buck you try to make, you're taking money from someone. It's fraud and that's inexcusable.

I noticed the exact same thing as you, that was one of the connections i made with the ebay jersey this is the only lsu jersey i have seen where the mesh goes all the way up the collar and it is just like the one on ebay.
