    Rob,

I too think there are countless ways these items can get out. We all know that items do get out from various back doors! The WBC jerseys are very similar to Yankees gamers. The value of a 2003 Roger Clemens jersey authenticated by Yankee-Steiner is insane. One that is not YS authenticated will sell for a fraction. People are going to invest and feel more comfortable with the YS holgram. Right or wrong it is good info for someone like Jay showing interest in these items.

As for DT, they do have issues. They have been authenticating Biggio hit baseballs since about 2,980. Thank goodness for the bat boy hand delivering the correct baseball and not switching it out. It is a system full of flaws. Your Thome story does not surprise me. Many of the Astros game used JRD jerseys were listed as game issued, even though the player played. The Roy Oswalt (Highest seller Astros JRD) is listed as game used and he did not pitch. Shoot, I have a Pujols 2006 bat that is MLB authenticated and it isn't even in the system yet.

I have nothing but faith in what Howard sells. He is well known throughout the hobby and throughout this forum. He has thorough knowledge and contacts and have dealt with him in the past and have nothing but great things to say about him and his dealings. The Maggs jersey he has is correct in sizing and I have happily added it to my collection.

Can anyone tell me what the difference in these two tags are? I am seriously asking, I don't know.

        0062WBC
        0206R2

        and

        0062WBC
        0139R3

What do the "0206R2" and "0139R3" stand for?

It would be nice for those accusing Howard's jerseys as not being authentic to post an apology on this forum as well. Lesson learned...don't jump the gun before you do your research and get all the facts straight.

As I said, when I'm satisfied that they are legit..I will. Not until then.

              Hello Jason,

I believe Howard's response to your question was "I'm not aware of a sizing issue, nor as to why a player would be issued a smaller or larger size than specified." In addition, there has been some discussion on this thread to regarding sizes worn by players and hopefully others can continue to offer perspective in this area. Howard has also stated how he obtained these jerseys. As such, you will need to make your purchase decision based on the information you currently have available as well as any other information that members may contribute going forward.

I will also be emailing you later today on a separate issue so please keep an eye out for my email.

              Sincerely,

There are some great WBC jerseys currently at auction on the mlb.com website. I remember reading a post about a year ago on nextleveltalk.com about a guy who picked some various WBC jerseys from the majestic outlet with correct team issued wash codes. He scored some nice game issued jerseys of star and common players. maybe majestic made up a ton of extras?? Who knows maybe each player changed jerseys several times during the games so mlb.com could auction them off or the teams/players sold them on the side to dealers to make a few extra bucks??

On a side note.....MLB.COM is also auctioning off some great Team USA jerseys that were game worn and autographed most of the jerseys listed are of #1 Draft Picks.

I have my eye on the David Price jersey, #1 overall pick in the draft.

Re: Venezuela World Baseball Classic Jerseys

Maggs jersey arrived from Howard today and it is gorgeous and authentic 100%. I compared every last thing to the jersey I had already purchased from MLB....everything is dead on. I also was lucky enough to be te guest of the Detroit Tigers for two ball games this week against the Rangers and had the chance to meet with Mags and have him sign one of my gamers. I asked him if he had any idea of how many road/home jerseys from the WBC he had of each and after thinking for a second he replied " A couple for each game", so there are definitley more then one of each out there and probably less then 10 would be my guess. After doing a lot of research on the subject, the numers below the 0062WBC that appear on the taggings I believe to be almost like a set number....my best guess is that the numbers all contain a 1 through a 3 in them at the end of the number, and this is refelctive of the "set". I am guessing each player received three home jerseys and three road jerseys for the total circulating number of jerseys of each player to be 6.

Next time I head to Detroit, I am going to bring it with me and have the Game Used Guys with the Tigers and hopefully Maggs to have a look at it too and hopefully any doubters of Howards jerseys can finally be put to rest.
