Offered is a vintage “D” code Wilson NFL football. I believe the “D” represents the fact that this ball was manufactured in 1971 – The first year the NFL used the smaller version of the NFL shield. Pete Rozelle was the Commissioner.
The ball is complete with its original box (moderate water damage), Wilson tag and the inflating needle still in the unopened envelope. Speaking of the box, stamped on the side of the box, is the Year and Month (DU) the football shipped from IDA, Ohio as well as the Model of the football – F1010.
