I think Casanova actually wore #17 in 2007; if you look at Gameday on June 6th, where he is listed as a reserve, it says as much. While Baseball Almanac does list 31 as his number, that has been Gomes's since 2005. While Casanova was called up 9 days earlier in June (4th vs. 13th) than Gomes that season, he would either have had either to change his number then (as Gomes again wore 31), which theoretically also would be listed by BA, or have had an entirely different number to begin with.

Here's the current and updated list of players I am looking for to complete my collection of Devil Rays bats , at least one bat from every position player 1998 through 2007 . Uniform number written (or stickers, Devil Rays started using in 2005) on ends must match the players name branded onto the bat .

Also , I wanted to make a clarification . I want the bats to be from while the players were with the Devil Rays only . The players are listed below .....thanks a lot!

Speaking of Miguel Cairo. He did a free signing this past Spring , at a kids play place called Bounce U, his neighbor is the owner.

I got Miguel to sign a bat for me. He said he remembered me from 1998-99 when I used to be a autograph hound. A really nice guy , his wife is smokin' !

I saw a similar Easton bat (all black) earlier this year that went for close to $250.00. I bet the bat is valued more than that. I would say around $300.00 - $350.00.

In 2001 the Devil Rays were thinking about dropping the Devil from their name.
I have a few 2001 Rawlings bats that just have Rays on them. I know another collector who has a Easton with just Rays on it. Louisville Sluggers all have the Devil in the name.

Your bat could be from Training Camp or Spring Training. Or could be a minor league bat. What number is on the ends?

According to my Devil Rays Media Guides , in 2000 Josh wore #72 in Spring Training.

In 2001 and 2002 he wore #31 in ST.

Josh is not listed in the 2003 Media Guide.

I hope this helps you narrow it down a bit.
