Not to be a killjoy, but these repros bother me quite a bit. My concern is that some will try to pass them on as vintage originals. Not that you would Brian, but some might.

No problem, but to me, this isn't an issue. After reading forums and reading online, most collectors know that Louisville Slugger goes through certain protocols to prevent people from selling fraudulent items. In this bat's case, the center branding is done in a more modern fonts (clearly different from the old style fonts from the past day and age) AND they underlined the "Made By" in the centerbrand, which represents what would be the "125" meaning it is a reproduction bat which is equivalent to the store model bats. I do know that some of these bats are actually made from pro-stock wood, which would differ them from store model bats, but other than that, that is it. I hope this helps your concern.

For me, I love these repros as I can get a bat made to the exact length and specs of my fav players from the old days for display. Having their signature on the barrell is so great! Just knowing that it is as close as I can get to one of their bats (without the six figure price tag) makes it great for me.

            Brian,
Great bat. Can you send me a private email mstrader@cox.net. I picked up a similar bat along with a Tris Speaker, Joe Jackson, and Wagner. I have questions on value, if you don't mind sharing that information.
            Thanks,
            Stradermays
