    Lou Gehrig 125 bat

    Hi guys,
I just purchased a Lou Gehrig 125 store model bat (from the 1940's according to the seller). I paid $150 delivered. It came today and has a small, unnoticeable crack when you run your fingers up the back of the barrell. How does that affect the value since it is a cracked store model bat? I love the bat. But, I want to know that it is worth what I paid. I emailed the seller (it wasn't listed as cracked in the desciption), but haven't heard back. Thanks for the help.

That isn't a crack. It is known as checking, and it results from hitting the ball. Very little affect on the value. You did fine on the price and I wouldn't worry about it at all if I were you.

FYI that is the proper dating of your bat as well.
