    My Confession

I grew up in North Carolina. Michael Jordan became my favorite player in November 1981. My dad and I would count how many times a game he would stick out his tongue. I bought sneakers because they were the same style Mike wore. Except they were white leather Converse All-Stars with Carolina blue trim. I would count the lace holes to match them with a Jordan photo. Jordan wore the three quarter version of the same Converse in his junior year (last at UNC). These were not available in stores (believe me, I looked). Jordan left UNC, went to the Pros and the rest can be found doing a "google search".
This photo was taken (by my dad) in July 1985, in Apex, NC.

This was a more simple time. 1985 was the time of mullets, Miami Vice (check MJ's hat) and herringbone chains. I got 3 autographs from Mike that day. Star brand rookie card, Star brand Olympic card and 5x7 Bulls card. I also got the original of this photo signed in 1990 at MJ's Golf Tourney in Greenville, NC. I saw Jordan play in person in 2 games at UNC, about 20 times in the NBA (including 2 All-Star games) and 3 times in minor league baseball with the Birmingham Barons. I have an unbelievable Super 8 film that I shot of MJ playing baseball!
