I have been offered an first year NBA full game ticket from a game played in Toronto (the site of the first game ever played) early in the season. Haven't come across any auction records of tickets, stubs, programs etc from this year in NBA history. Any ideas on a fair price to pay? thanks!

A year or so ago, Genius asked me if I knew of a Coach Toody from my Alma Mater, Campbell U. I had not heard of him until I researched the above linked website. I'd like to read his story . I still am not familiar to a connection with Campbell.
Cirincione, Tom J. alias "TJ" alias "Toody." Known as the world's most devoted basketball junkie. He worked the basketball summer camps every year, he could be found in Madison Square Garden on the St. John's bench, he could be found in Las Vegas on their bench when the Tark was the coach, he shows up at basketball's premier events around the country. He grew up in Pittsburgh, PA, and aspired to coach basketball. A book about his life, A Boy, A Ball, A Dream by Chris Roche was sold by The Christopher Publishing House, 24 Rockland St, Hanover, MA 02339 for $21.95Comment

Re: First year NBA items (1946-47)
Yep, Press Maravich played for the Ironmen. Pittsburgh basketball has some incredible history that is totally buried, mainly Connie Hawkins obviously, the Rens, the first ABA Champion Pipers, John Brisker of the Condors, Pitt-Duquesne in the late 70s/early 80s, etc. Would make a great book especially if accompanied by good photography. Bob Smizik wrote a great post in his blog on this subject a week or so ago on www.postgazette.com.Comment

Re: First year NBA items (1946-47)
Picked up the ticket, btw. Also quite generic, but it has the date and visiting team - Friday, November 29th, 1946 vs. the Cleveland Rebels. Toronto lost this their 7th home game (12th overall) lost by 15 pts to drop to 2-10 overall on the young season.Comment
