Why are people throwing their money away on this crap? The guy who "relisted because of nonpaying bidder" has been constantly putting these Ty Cobb displays up for the last year or so....There is a seller who is constantly getting upwards of $100 for a fake Red Rock/Babe Ruth calendar. Who is bidding on this stuff??? That last item the Matthewson fan is the first fake I've seen, but a longtime collector informed me that this is the 4th fake "fan for a fan" that he has seen lately. All of this stuff that I've seen is originating from the Georgia/Carolinas area of the country. A good rule of thumb is that if it's a private auction on ebay it's fake. Of course ebay will do nothing about this either.

Not sure who is making this stuff but It does not stop at memorabilia. The one seller has had several Allen & Ginter Repros. Always has the same description. "I have a large estate that I have been assigned to liquidate. If you are ever dissatisfied with your purchase, please contact me at once so I may promptly resolve any and all concerns. Please do not bid on this item unless you are able to make payment within 5 days of purchase. I prefer payment to be made via US Postal Money Order or Cashiers Check. Buying the fan as pictured and appears to be in good condition.PLEASE DO NOT BID UNLESS YOU CAN MAKE PAYMENT WITHIN 5 DAYS OF SALE CLOSE!!!!!!!!!!!!THANKS". -BUYER BEWARE if you know item is fake there is a chance of a refund since it is stated. But then again if you are not educated in the hobby you get burned. Seller has Huge feedback - I wonder How many people got hurt by this type of auction. Amazing only 17 negative feedbacks. Kind of like a Legal illegal auction in the world of ebay.

This drives me crazy. There is also a guy selling remade decal bats and companies making lemon peel balls!!! In 20 years or less, who will know what is what. Those lemon peels could easily be aged and sold. Unless you cut it open who would know.
