    Ted Williams J2 Decal Bat

    Hi Everyone,

Today I picked up a 32" H&B J2 Ted Williams Little League Decal Bat. Anyone know of the value on something like this? I know that one sold in the February 18-19, 2000 Hunt Auctions for $300. Here is that description and photo from lot 219 of that auction:

219 - Ted Williams decal bat c.1950’s. Rare horizontal style decal remains approx. 70% intact,
    H&B model J2 bat measures 32”: VG-EX
Estimate was $450-$550, sold for $300.

Here are photos of the bat I purchased.

Please email me if anyone is interested in this bat or has any information as to age or value. I will be putting it up for sale soon. Thanks!

Re: Ted Williams J2 Decal Bat

The horizontal decal version is more desirable than the vertical. Two things hurt your bat. First, it's under 33", second, the decal is in rough shape (sorry, but you asked). The market for shorter bats and less than ex+ condition is really with Williams collectors rather than bat purists. Probably $200 on ebay. Hunts, REA, Mastro etc. almost always get above market for items then you pay the consignment fee and the actual sale value goes down more. It's a cool piece.

      Hi,

Thank you for the information! I would be very pleased getting $200 for the bat. I think I'll go ahead and list it tonight.

Today I also picked up three old gloves in varying conditions. As I explained to Brett (Lowman) when I emailed him for info I know absolutely nothing about gloves and it was really a shot in the dark that any of them would be worth anything. Photos can be seen here:

The Dizzy Trout Glove maybe autographed. I can't tell if the signature is an endorsement or an actual auto.

I'm accepting offers on these. The leather is pretty nice and fairly soft.

Any interested parties please email me at tim@tjsportsmn.com

The Ted Williams bat will be up on ebay tonight!

      Thanks for all your help!
