Old Cleats - Need Help

So, I just picked these up at a yard sale this morning. I was wondering if anyone could give me some information on them. The owner said he thought they were from the 40's and probably made by Brooks. I also picked up an old set of Hutch kid's football shoulder pads and a set of old football pants. I am not knowledgeable in this area, but the price seemed okay, so I bought them.

Anyway, sorry for the big picture and any help would be greatly appreciated.

I am no shoe expert, but these look a lot like Riddell "snug ties" that were popular in the 1960s and '70s. I don't know when "snug ties" first came into use, but the ad seen in this link is from 1963. http://news.google.com/newspapers?ni...g=1186,4330406
