I'm amazed at what these photos sold for

I have a photo that came from this same grouping that I think is much nicer than any of the three above when you consider condition and clarity...I wonder what it would sell for these days? Not that I'm looking to sell it, but I had a passing fancy of buying the above photos just last year when they were on ebay.

check out the Detroit Uni for Cole. That is also truly stunning. A guy who was a nobody surpased HOF jerseys from same era. Strange market.

I was stunned too by what the Cole jersey went for..surprising.

The ND uniform went for $14,000.

          Those are all amazing photographs.

For me, two fold. Great baseball subjects. Incredible Scoreboard with two great brewery advertisements on them.

I haven't seen one Fenway Park photo with a beer advertisement on them. There are plenty of Huntington Avenue grounds photos that display some amazing advertisements for beer.

Of course, that 3rd Base photo I picked up has two incredible beer advertisements on it, although they're both Mass breweries (not RI which my dad and I collect)

          Cool stuff anyway.....

(and Much more interesting than cards )

          Thanks for posting them all.

By the way, does anyone else seem to be confused with these live ebay auctions?

Two nice Red Sox items sold yesterday on a live auction. Not that I could afford to bid on them now, but when I placed a low ball bid, all you get is that your bid has been accepted. You have no idea where it stands. Then the item drops off your bidding list in "my ebay", and never shows up in items not won. You have no idea how your bid is doing until the very end, and even then it's hard to find the item again unless you saved it somewhere else. This also happened two weeks ago on an incredible little stick pin shown here. I placed a pretty good bid, then everything disappeared. If I knew it was going to go higher, I would have placed a higher bid, but having no idea what it was doing, did not.

I certainly wouldn't want to consign any item of mine to this style of bidding. I think you stand to miss a lot of bid action.

Here's the one that got away

I've had the same experience Greg. I'm also turned off by the buyers premium. The pin is extremely cool and undoubtedly very rare.

You have to place the item in your watchlist too or it won't show up on your "My Ebay" page unless you win the item. I actually enjoy the ebay live feature and have won a few items here and there for real bargains because I think it intimidates some ebay bidders to think they'll be bidding against live floor bidders as well. Or they just don't know how ebay live works?
