Re: Let's See Some Baseballs!
Been wanting to put this beauty on for awhile! Hope everyone enjoys it as much as I do..Mint in the box Honus Wagner Co. ball late-'20s, early '30s. Found at local estate sale years back. Also came w/original box w/lid that held a dozen balls. His name is stamped several times on the box, small pic of him on ball. One of my favorites. Jay

Re: Let's See Some Baseballs!
Hilarious. Thanks for the laugh Rob M. Hard to believe someone could think that ball was that old. Like Dan said, a '60s, or even more recent, dime store toy.Leave a comment:

Most likely a 1950-1960's child's toy baseball that you could get at any dime store.Leave a comment:

1934 was the year all red stitching began in both leagues. Companies could obviously continue to make them, but they weren't used in the bigs after 1933.Leave a comment:

Re: Let's See Some Baseballs!
I got the ball from Sports Immortals in Boca. The photos on it are cut from some sort of actual photo, not a newspaper or magazine. I'll try to post pictures of the sides tomorrow.

Absolutely. Ed used to caddy for Tom when he was trying to catch on the PSA tour too.

Re: Let's See Some Baseballs!
Ed Hearn's brother Tom used to be my neighbor. He works for the Nebraska PGA. Super nice guy. He told me a lot of great stories about the 1986 Mets. Did you know that Ed Hearn played on a championship team at every level of baseball he played?Leave a comment:

Re: Let's See Some Baseballs!
$20 is a steal for any multicolor stitched ball...especially one in as good as condition as yours plus you got the original box. I just picked up a Pioneer League ball that was also made by Worth that I think is probably 1930's. Anyone know how late multicolor stitch balls were being used in professional baseball? I know that I can definitely say that the Three I League was using a black and red stitch Goldsmith ball as late as 1938.Leave a comment:

Re: Let's See Some Baseballs!
i'm not positive but i'd guess late 20's/early 30's - that was the same era as the glove that i got with it. the lady also had the uniform of the player who used the mitt and ball but i had already spent my money (only 20 bucks for the ball which I think was a great deal).Leave a comment:

Nice ball Brett. Do you happen to know when it was manufactured?Leave a comment:
