    Dan-
    You can't even be joking!

Here it is, a year after an entire thread was dedicated to your bogus green Ripken St. Patrick's jersey and you have never taken any type of legal action against Lou Lampson and/or the auction house? You based your purchase of this jersey on his LOA, correct? It was discovered that not only did the O's never wear the style jersey you have, but that the Lampson LOA is completely worthless, too!

A collector took Grey Flannel to court when he discovered he had a bogus Turn Back the clock Ripken, and won. Why would you allow this to continue, and never take any type of action to obtain a refund?

Laugh all you want, however, you're the one out the $4,000.

      DESCRIPTION:

From the record-breaking season in which Ripken broke Lou Gehrig’s prestigious consecutive game streak, presented here is a game worn Cal Ripken Jr. gray knit road jersey from the 1995 season. Jersey wears the appropriate Russell Athletic tag, size “48”, with 2” extra length designation. The “95” year tag is appropriately sewn on underneath the primary tag. Capping off this jersey and defining its prominent year of usage, Ripken has signed across the front in silver metallic marker, “Cal Ripken Jr. – Iron Man – 5.30.82 – 9.6.95 – '2131'.” In excellent condition. An official Steiner certification hologram is affixed in the proximity of the signature. LOAs from Grey Flannel and Global Authentication.

I know we are talking about different years here, but I have a game photo from 2001 with the "8" on front sewn on the same exact way. Did the Orioles always sew them on the same was or did they change from one year to the next?

        Joel,

You'll have to ask Howard as he was the one to state that the "8" was incorrect....Nice job on the photo.

Let me say this again...it doesn't matter if the "8" on the front side of the jersey is "upside down" "rightside up" or sideways. That script pattern was only worn late in the 1996 season, and not by every Orioles player. And, yes, they did send players onto the field wearing two different script patterns in late 1996 and 1998. Don't ask me why, because I don't understand it either. If you have a jersey with a 1995 year tag, and that script pattern, you have a problem. A big, expensive problem.

One major issue is the Russell tag. This particular tag was first used in 1996. As such, I have no idea how this could be sewn into a 1995 jersey, Note the washing instructions. 1995 jerseys should have 4 lines of text, not 5 as this has. 5 lines was used on Russell tagging from 1996-1999.

Howard, I know exactly what you are saying about the tag. I will post the tag(s) from my '95 Thome World Series jersey. Thanks,Roger
