Re: Distraught about Canada Post-Need Help

Now he wants more money for postage.

Funny thing, the two worst experiences I have had here have been with Canadians. This one is the worst by far.

But I sold some bats to a Canadian guy not long ago. Sold on eBay at 11:00 a.m. He filed an eBay and Paypal complaint almost immediately. Froze my accounts and everything.

I've been treated better in third world countries.

A month later he is asking for more money for postage? Tell him to ship the item first and when you receive you will pay him extra. Of course after you receive the item tell him to pound sand!
      Thank you,
      David

The next time Dave's pal crosses the Canadian/American border, if his info is checked, he'll come back a hit. What happens then is up to Customs. They may or may NOT notify the local jurisdiction - Dave may never see his money but at the very least Dave's pal will be detained.

        Just a thought.
Nice to see fellow LE in the hobby. I'm not even close to retiring, 5 years so far in the bag. Down here in NC, I doubt our LE would even know the procedure for something like this. I'd go so far to say that some prosecutors wouldn't know what to do. Most magistrates wouldn't know what to charge and probably wouldn't give you Probable Cause. What would be even better is you get an awesome judicial official that allows full extradition.

Down here we have a charge called "obtaining property under false pretense" that's probably the NC equivalent of the Nj charge.

Need help with GUU Senior Member

I'm the "distraught about Canada" guy but this deserves its own thread.

The Canada guy who accepted my money for a Miguel Tejada glove more than a month ago--never sent it--then demanded more money-- is a Senior GUU member. Senior member!!! He is XPFO, David Keen of London Ontario, davegameguy@yahoo.ca

I have now filed complaints with the FBI's computer fraud department as well as the US Postal inspectors. I am now pursuing the police complaint root.

This looks really, really bad, bad, bad for the forum. Bad!!!!

Dave Keen, if you're reading this, I'll be happy to send you postage money when I receive the glove.

            Hi Dave,

You'll prevail. The best thing you could have done besides lodging formal complaints is to "out" the guy here on the forum. Kudos and best of luck.

Re: Distraught about Canada Post-Need Help

Dave, I went ahead and merged the threads rather than have two active threads open on the same subject. Given the number and nature of the complaints regarding this member, I have emailed the member and suspended his account pending a response and/or resolution of the issue.

While Game Used Universe is not responsible for monitoring these types of transactions, as a moderator I take the trust among members very seriously and there is zero tolerance for breaches of this trust. While the forum is intended to be used by collectors for the benefit of collectors, these events should serve as a reminder to all of us to take the necessary steps to protect yourself when acquiring items whether the seller is a GUU member or not.

Unfortunately, I had to delete a few posts on this thread that were off topic. Again, if the post doesn't help provide useful, on-topic information for other collectors, please resist the urge to post. Dave, I hope you are able to reach a positive resolution, please do let us know what happens.

I applaud GUU for suspending the member. Just disgusting that someone would take advantage of others' trust.

As another fellow LEO, these cases always walk a very fine line between a criminal matter and a civil matter. Intent is a very hard thing to prove on these issues and many times they turn into a big "he said, he said" mess.

None the less, have faith that there are more laws on the books than excuses these dirtbags can come up with. It may take some persuading, but in the end justice will be served.

                    For the record --
I'm not interested in criminal intent--or even retribution. I would gladly forgive and forget when I have the glove. I'm just a guy with unbridled passion for dirty uniforms and greasy gloves. No fine line there.

Re: Distraught about Canada Post-Need Help

I thought I would give you an update on my dispute with former Senior Member David Keen XPFO. He's the one who sold but did not ship a Miguel Tejada glove.

                        1. I e-mail to him twice a day asking for peaceful resolution. However I get no response and have no street address or working phone no.
                        2. I have filed complaints with U.S. Postal Inspector and the IC3, a federal investigative service linked to the FBI.
                        3. I have offered to pay for shipment by any method, payable when the merchandise is in hand. I would keep that promise.
                        4. I have been assured by forum moderators that the man has been banned pending resolution.
                        5. I have learned a lot about trust and self-protection. Again, I am not a punitive guy. I just need information.

Re: Distraught about Canada Post-Need Help UPDATE

I thought you guys would like an update in my fight for justice -- the Miguel Tejada glove I paid for but never got. The government has feel-good mail fraud programs -- but nothing like self-protection.

                          1. I e-mail David Keen (davegameguy@yahoo.ca) of London, Ontario two or three times a day with CC's to his wife. She asked me to stop but of course I won't.

                          2. I also send messages through his Facebook and his wife's Paypal accounts.

                          3. Finally, I troll the Internet for references to him. Before he was banned from this forum, he used the ID XPFO. I just found out what that means: Extreme Pillow Fighting Organization. Seriously. The things you learn when you get ripped off.

Thanks for your comments. I really do not mean ill-will to him, but it's always hard when you cannot communicate with him at all. His cellphone does not work, I have no street address and he does not respond at all to e-mails. I have even offered to cover the postage when it arrives. Nothing.

It has really been hard for me because I sent the money as a "gift" through paypal, to save him a bit. Now I've got nothing. It is very hard.

Do you have any contact informatikon? How long ago did you buy the glove? Actually, now I am worried about him and for him. Just me. Your guidance wouls be appreciated.
