    Ebay #181709699834: Wrong supplier

The above mentioned lot is currently on eBay now, advertised as a 1995 Clearwater Phillies game used jersey. Problem, is, the jersey is made by Russell, which wasn't the team's 1995 supplier. A peek at item #21731062731 shows Rolen in a 1995 action shot with Clerwater, and the game photo shows him wearing Rawlings, not Russell. The seller was contacted, and no response was made in roughly 36 hours. Thanks, Hoard, for the alert.

    An update on this jersey:

Howard was finally contacted by the seller, who indicated that his late father-in-law bought it for him as a gift from a game-used dealer of the era. The receipt had the name of the seller of the jersey to the dealer (a Phillies employee of the era).

The Phils' employee is someone I hung out with in the 1980s and 90s, before he got a job with an MLB team. Through a mutual friend, I was able to have him call me. He confirmed that he was the original owner of the jersey, procured from a box of odds and ends in a Phillies minor league clubhouse, and that he did sell it to the dealer. He was in agreement with us, though, as to the Clearwater team wearing Rawlings when Rolen was there. He believes it may have been worn by Rolen at another farm team in the Phils' system, most likely Martinsville or Spartanburg. Howard is checking up on this, and I will keep you updated.

Well it went for 94.00. So either someone got a deal or they didnt.

Any update on what this is?

Yeah...near as we can tell, the style is that of the Reading Phillies (AA) from 1995, where Rolen played later that season.

Was offered this jersey last week. Dave did we ever get the final verdict? I did some research and it seems it could be from Reading as well.

The photos I studied pointed to Reading as the likely team for which it was worn.
