1961 Harry Bright Washington Senators Home Flannel

Harry Bright's career year came in 1962 when he hit 17 home runs for the Senators. In 1960, the expansion Senators traded Bobby Shantz to Pittsburgh for Bright and 2 other players. In 1963, Bright, a member of the New York Yankees, was the final out of Game 1 of the World Series. He struck out to give Sandy Koufax 15 strikeouts in the game.

This 1961 Washington Senators home pinstripe flannel has an all original felt tag in the collar with "Bright" chain stitched onto a felt tag. The original Wilson tag is sewn onto the left tail of the jersey. The original felt tag is attached to the bottom of the Wilson tag with the year "1961" chain stitched to the felt year tag. Original zippered front. Shirt is in outstanding all original condition, exhibiting light to moderate use. Jersey is accompanied by a letter from vintage equipment expert Darrell O'Mary and a second COA from Global Authentication (Bushing/Knoll).

    Hello Everyone,

Just wanted to let you know we added an image of the Global Authentication (Bushing/Knoll) LOA to the lot detail page. This is a very rare example of the style the "new" Washington Senators used for just their first two years...1961-62. The winning bidder will also have the option to purchase a scarce matching hat, a block red "W" with a white outline, after the auction through GUU.

Please note that we added the word "Copy" to the image of the LOA to prevent anyone from attempting to use it for another jersey. The original does NOT have the word "Copy" on it. I will also post the image here for everyone's convenience:

        Hello Terry,

As per the previous post, the winning bidder will have the option to acquire the hat at a specified price at the end of the auction (the price will be discussed at that time). If the winning bidder is not interested in the hat, we will be happy to discuss the possibility of a sale with other members.

Please let me know if that answers your question.

        Sincerely,
        Chris
