Hello Everyone,

We have previously posted what we believe will be some of the benefits of our upcoming GUU consignment auctions. In fact, there is a tab in the site's global navigation entitled 'GUU Auctions' that explains some of the things that will make our auction unique. You can also access that link be clicking here:

While we will be accepting consignments through the last day of the National Convention (August 5th), we thought it might help to provide a list of some of the items that have already been consigned. Upcoming Items - GUU Inaugural Auction

Hello Everyone,

I wanted to provide an update regarding the upcoming GUU Auction. I have to say we were overwhelmed by the number of quality items that were consigned to us. In fact, in a previous post a GUU member who came by our booth at the National wrote "I was really impressed with quality of items that they will have coming up in their auction.......that's the way a quality auction should be". On behalf of GUU, I want to personally thank everyone who entrusted their quality pieces to us and we are thrilled that we can offer these great items to the collecting community.

The auction will be going live at the end of September and the auction close date will be October 25th. We will have the bidder registration section live on the site within the next week or so. In the meantime, we have added content under the 'GUU Auctions' tab that will give members a glimpse into what is coming. Here is what you can now find in that section:

1) An "Auction Information" section that helps explain why we believe our auction truly is next generation. Here is a link to that page:

2) A "Lots Preview" section that has some of the items that will be in the auction. Please note that these are only a portion of the items and we will be adding more in the coming weeks. Would you happen to know if the Ryan Langerhans 2005 Braves jersey in the auction is a call-up jersey? It's missing the strip tag.

Chris asked me to respond to your question regarding the Langerhans jersey in the upcoming GUU auction. This jersey was part of a large team purchase back in 2006 that included several "Baby Braves" jerseys. For some reason, this Langerhans jersey came void of the normal team strip tagging on the tail. Regarding your specific question about this being "call up" style tagging, I'm not sure I'd call it that given the fact that Langerhans was with the team from the beginning of the year in 2005. Instead, I'd credit this abnormaility to a simple inconsistency in tagging that shows up from time to time among many MLB teams that use this type of Majestic strip tagging. In fact, just last month I purchased a handful of Chicago Cubs game worn jerseys from a very reputable source - one of which was a Jason Marquis gamer that was hammered with use but void of the usual strip tagging in the collar. I can't explain why the strip tagging was missing, but like this Langerhans, all the other characteristics were correct. This type of thing happens from time to time, and although the lack of strip tagging will turn some collectors off, the Braves LOA that accompanies this particular Langerhans jersey (combined with the fact that it was originally obtained as part of a larger team purchase) makes me feel very confident in this particular jersey. Hello Robert,

The helmet comes with a letter from Game Exclusives who gets their merchandise directly from the Cowboys. Please let me know if that is the information you are looking for or if you have any other questions. Please also note that the 'Lots Preview' section is primarily intended to give people an idea of some of the items that will be in the auction. However, the full descriptions, which will provide details about each item, will come out at the end of next month when the auction goes live.

I really like the Keith Rivers Army Football jersey. I didn't see that on the list, only on the preview auction lot.

I'd love to find some of the Army collegiate football gamers, that have the patches from special units on the chest. Can never find them.

Just to make sure everyone knows (I may not have been clear on this), the list above in this thread is only a partial list of the items that will be in the auction.

Additionally, the items in the 'Lots Preview' section under the 'GUU Auctions' tab is also only a portion of the items that will be in auction.

We will be adding more items over the next few weeks but all the items probably won't be on the site until the auction goes live in the end of September.
