Re: Josh Hamilton 2007 Home Cincinnati Reds Game Worn, Autographed Jersey (MLB Hologram)
Hello Andrew,
Rob should have the jersey by Monday. Given the item was pulled, I didn't see the need to expedite the shipping and I didn't have it as a priority given all the other things we are doing right now. I apologize that it is getting there later than some expected. I honestly didn't think it was an issue given the item has already been pulled.
Again, sorry for the delay as I was the one that didn't make it a priority. As mentioned above, Rob should have it by Monday and he can provide an update after having the chance to re-evaluate it. I hope that is okay with everyone.

Tomorrow will be 10 days and we have no more answers!!!!
I know you are busy as we all are, and you said on October 6th It's already prepared to go out.
San Fran to Illinois should take about 3 days in ground shipping according to UPS.
Chakes89's posts have gone unanswered too.
The courtesy of an update would be appreciated.Leave a comment:

Everyone,
Given this new information, I've asked Chris to ship the jersey back to me for reexamination. In light of my error, I'd like to have the opportunity to look at the tagging more closely.
Chris asked me to mention that he is temporarily pulling the jersey from the auction - pending my second inspection. After I have looked at the jersey again, I will post in this thread.Leave a comment:

Re: Josh Hamilton 2007 Home Cincinnati Reds Game Worn, Autographed Jersey (MLB Hologram)
Shouldnt it have been researched as to where it was purchased before it was put up for auction. Im just not quite sure Im understanding some of your guys' auctions and their origins/examinations.Leave a comment:

I just wanted to let you know your question is not being avoided. The item was consigned to us so we do not know where the item was purchased. We will be discussing this item with the consignor to see if more information can be attained about the history of the jersey. This is in addition to other research we will be doing to try to find out more information about the item.
Again, just wanted to let you know we do not currently know the answer to your question. It is not being avoided.Leave a comment:

Re: Josh Hamilton 2007 Home Cincinnati Reds Game Worn, Autographed Jersey (MLB Hologram)
I think you meant "measured" up as you just didn't recheck the sizing so I wonder when you get this back from Chris that when you recheck the size if it is closer to a 48 then a 50 so when you get it back please check against both sizes. That missing stitching is bizarre. What is holding that size 50 flag tag in place?
anyway, like andrew, i too am curious about the actual true size of the jersey. i think it's obvious that those threads above the size tag didn't wear away from use. only those specific threads were clipped. as rob steinmetz said, 50 isn't a retail size. i'm curious if a size 50 tag was inserted to "help the jerseys case". it would be possible to buy a legit hamilton gamer from MLB and transfer that hologram to a pro-cut from ebay and have the procut match up in the MLB database. you could keep the legit gamer (albeit without MLB hologram), sell the procut at the MLB gamer price and you've essentially gotten the legit hamilton for free. that was the problem with the original steiner yankee releases; anyone could buy a steiner steve balboni game issue and transfer the generic hologram to a don mattingly procut and all of a sudden it appeared that they had a mattingly steiner gamer.
anyway, i'm just really curious how those threads went missing. i'm curious if the jersey actually measures to a 48 or a 52.

Chris & Rob - I commend you for your swift action on removing this jersey until Rob can re-evaluate.
Some may take this as a weakness as to how can this happen, but I take this that the system works! All of your items are there for the world to see with unedited comments and analysis which then becomes part of the history of the item.
I commented on 3 items that I have some knowledge about and after some good analysis have bid on the other 2 items (so nobody bid against me lol)!!!
Again, great job!Leave a comment:

Andrew,
I'm personally a bit busy with a number of things going on right now. I'm hoping it's okay for Rob to take the images you requested when he gets the jerseys back. It's already prepared to go out and it would be some work for me to do the images now.Leave a comment:
