    Michael Vick

Just picked up this baby from a local human society shelter. The shirts sold out in 10 minutes with all of the money going to the shelter.

Hopefully, either the Goldman family or the Las Vegas Tourist Council will print up a shirt with OJ on it and the caption, “What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas”.

    Yes, you are correct...

Who knows, maybe the sports writers will do him right and place him in the HOF, but I wouldn't bet on it even though he has amassed almost 240 wins, a perfect game, a couple of World Series Rings and a reputation as the go to guy in the need to win game category.

Definately a player as a fan you hate, unless he's on your team!

I was able to obtain David Wells 1st Game Used Dodgers Jersey, the one he used on August 26, 2007 against the NY Mets.

Even better, I met David at a Dodgers Game and he signed it and he remembered it, however he didn't inscribe it as game used.

Too bad the Dodgers imploded this last week.

For the record, Boomer was very generous with his time to me and many of the loyal Dodgers Fans who welcomed him to his new team.

    Hi!

Wondering if I might persuade you to trade (or sell) the Sarah Silverman jersey. I am a long-time Jews and Baseball collector, and would love to add it to my collection as an oddball item.

BTW, my collection will be featured in an upcoming exhibit on the role of Jews in baseball.

If interested, please contact me at goldstein@goldlaw.com.

    Thanks much.

Astrocollector, Hey funny note on the first bat on your pictures, Mike Simms. I was standing next to Will Clarks locker while Simms and Clark were teamates with the Rangers. Clark was using Simms rose colored bats at the time and Will Clark yelled at Simms to come to his locker. He pulled out one of Simm's bats and asked him in the best lousiana accent "why in the hell is there a star next to your name on this bat?" Simms laughed and told the story where Louisville Slugger asked him to sign his name three times and put a star next to the best signature for them to use on the bat. Well, if you look at the Simms bat you see Louisville included the star next to Simms name. Pretty funny stuff i thought. Cool collection.

    Jeff,

Nice bat & photo match! I give Ankiel a lot of credit, his career was over as a pitcher but he never gave up and got back to the big leagues as an outfielder and he can hit too!

godwulf - yeah thats about how much I figured. This bat was originally on ebay and the seller had one lousy pic. It had no bites for a few days so I contacted him and just threw a number at him and he went for it. I was kind of surprised. I figured that it would sell for at least double that. Its got some great use and that pine tar looks like a melted chocolate bar. Its a high batch number so I know it was probably one of the last ones he used.

    Thanks!

A great deal, no doubt! Right now, a bat like that would probably find a buyer in the $125-150 range...on eBay, anyway...I'm not really all that familiar with any other sales venue, to be honest.

Gracie's Cubs bats seem to fetch more - maybe even double that - despite there actually being a lot more of his Cubs bats than DBacks bats out there, just because of the Grace-Chicago identification factor.

Ironically, a Scott Service DBacks bat is one of the things I'm looking for. I've got one of his Reds bats, but that's as close as I've been able to come.

godwulf - Grace has always been one of my favorites. I dont mind telling you that I was a little nervous on this purchase. The seller was a non collector from Ohio. He was verrrrryyyyy slooooow at returning emails. We made a verbal agreement and I waited and waited to finalize it. What do you think a bat like this would go for? I'll tell you know that I bought it for the grand total of $50 plus shipping.

As for Service, I just mailed him a letter asking him about the bat since the seller said that he got it from Service. I'll let you know what he says if he replies.

Rick hit a HR that first game and then hit two more on 8/11 on a nationally televised game. Based on the handle tape pattern, I think my bat may be the one he used in those games.

Somewhat stretching the definition of "game-used" perhaps... ...nevertheless, I couldn't resist this one.

"Authentic game worn SARAH SILVERMAN jersey from the 2004 Taco Bell legends and Celebrities Softball game that was held All Star Weekend in Houston, TX."

    (Sarah Silverman not included...)
