Just so you don't think I messed up on your jersey. Alzado was with the Raiders from 82-85. Here is a link from AMI's past auction:

It may be from '85. Mostly recognized from the early to mid 80's tagging. I only went by the tagging and not the mesh or jersey type.

Hey Scott, no I dont think you messed up. I saw the AMI Raiders Alzado and I saw the AMI Browns Alzado, which led me to believe this was an early Raiders Alzado since the Browns was a 48 and this one is a 48. But since Guy thinks the tags are from a year other than 82-85, I'd like to know what year these tags match up to.

This variety of the crown logo MacGregor Sand-Knit tagging first began appearing in 1987. This tagging (along with the "exclusive" tagging) was also available on retail jerseys of the era.

It looks like there's a MacGregor "M" tag on one sleeve, correct? You see that on jerseys manufactured around 1990-1991, not the '80s.

Welcome to hearing differing opinions on this, though.

Not trying to stir up any controversy here; I just think one of the useful functions of this forum is to share any knowledge, which includes praising the good stuff and scrutinizing items that don't fit established paradigms.

Just received this GU Kevin Butler from Matt at Triple xXx Sports...Thanks! Anyone know what year this is from? I have seen a few with similar tags with a dark color thread around the tag...any help is appreciated. This is a nice addition to my kickers and punters collection...always looking for new punters and kickers jerseys...

That's a 1987 Butler. The "silk" tag with no date-coded flag tagging included is the indicator on that one.
