June was a pretty slow month for new pick ups , but July is picking up the slack.
In June I scored a Bobby Smith Glomar at an Antique Shop across the street from Tropicana Field. Then I got a Josh Phelps at a baseball card store in Largo, FL.
Also got a couple of John Flaherty's on ebay .
Today I just went to ASI and picked up a Brendan Harris I won on ebay . They also had a Kevin Witt , which Brad said I could buy , so I did.
It was nice to meet Brad Wells , he seems like a nice guy.
Also have another Delmon Young and a nice BJ Upton on the way .
I will post pictures after I get the remaining two bats......
Bought this off ebay. A piece of Adam Dunn's broken bat. He broke it vs Mariano Rivera in the 9th inning on 6/22. You can see this piece fly into the outfield and then picked up by Robinson Cano.
Not on sale like the game-used stuff, and not specifically game-used in its own right, this mini-plaque was acquired today at the Mariners team shop in Bellevue Square. It is a plaque that is a guide for past jersey styles, known as the "Heritage Jersey Collection". All thirty teams have their own plaques, and the M's one is for my uncle. My Astros one should be in next week's mail.
Mark,
That's entirely possible. Wilson could've attributed an older blank for the '88 season or for that matter they could've simply swapped out the nameplate from an older existing #92 jersey. That number was used by Rob Fada, (1983-1984), and also Raymond Morris, (1987).
I admittedly no little about the cloth tag to plastic tag switchover, but perhaps the reason the Johnson jersey has the cloth tag is that it was recycled from the mid-1980s.
1988-89 Troy Johnson home jersey.
This one's interesting because it challenges the theory that Wilson changed from the cloth tag to the plastic tag prior to the 1987 NFL season. It's definitely gotta be either an '88 or an '89 because those were the only years Johnson was on the team.
2001 season Reebok pants.
2003 season Reebok Todd McMillon practice jersey.
1996 season Champion long-sleeve shirt (worn under jerseys in cold weather).
