Re: July Pick-Ups
As mentioned previously, it just arrived...
1998 Rawlings 456B Carl Everett Astros bat - pounded.
Lots of marks, C-Rex's signature tape job, #3 at both ends. Nice handle crack at the top of the tape, but still intact and pretty solid.
Everett hit .296 with 74 rbi's and 15 homers in his first year with the Astros. They won thier division that year.
Astros fans - it is available if you are interested....taking offers.

Re: July Pick-Ups
So they sawed off the sharp edge for safety reasons.
I got it for 10$ bucks , I would like to make a bat rack out of it.
But I am afraid of screwing it up....Leave a comment:

I remember seeing a beautiful Honus Wagner decal bat auctioned a few years ago. I believe it went for almost 80 grand.Leave a comment:

Re: July Pick-Ups
learn something new every day- i had no idea the early players used decal bats
the only thing id be concerned about is the decal- yours is positioned the same way as the hunt bat (which they denote as rare) whereas the mears is horizontal.I be the one in hunts did not have a hand turned knob which mine does. Store model bats back then did not have hand turned knobs.Look at this one that sold on Mears.

Just got this in the mail today. Crica 1905 Nap LaJoie decal bat. I will be sending it to mears where i think they will call it a professional model decal bat. it's 34 inches long and the weight is around 40oz. i believe Lajoie used this bat sometime back then. And my second pick up is a 1860's bat.Leave a comment:
