TAFKA i see the style match, but where is the photomatch? From what I have learned here on the forum, a photomatch would be specificcharacteristics that are seen both in the photo of the player wearing it and on your specific item.
I picked up what I believe is a St Patty's Twins spring training jersey worn by Tim Drummond in 1989 or 1990. I have sent Steichens an email hoping for a little more info. This one has two neck tags and the Steichens logo on one sleeve and "Athletic Sewing" on the other. The sleeve logos and the two tags leads me to believe this one is older than my other St Patty's Day jersey as it doesn't have the sleeve logos and has only one neck tag. Otherwise everything else is identical.
These St Patty's Day jerseys are impossible to find. In the last five years or so only four have shown up for sale. Two of which I have purchased. This one was listed in the wrong ebay category and had no mention of being game used in the description so I got it at a great price. Hoping Steichens comes back with some good news.
A big shout goes out to Andrew Lang for the Grays jersey and Nick tnt-toys for helping get my Cubbage done the Zachary and the Monarchs..You both are an asset to the collecting world here are my latest pickups.. 81 Mets Cubbage,79 Joe Pignantano,,82 Pat Zachary,07 Negro League Monarchs Justin Huber and 08 Negro League Grays Flannel Jesus Flores Washington Nationals
I just acquired what I believe is a 1965-69 Joe Morgan game used bat. It's an S44 model with a light flame finish and wide grain; 34.5", 32 oz. Joe's old #18 is visible, though faded, on the knob above the S44 stamp. Shows good use with a minor handle crack. The original owner says he received it from Joe at Busch Stadium when he was a kid. The handle was taped at one time but has since been removed.
have you tried sending them a photo of the location of the museum and also maybe a display of what you currently have? pretty sure you have but sometime pictures speak louder than words and will get their attention. has your letter writing worked? have you tried contacting their agents?
I haven't tried sending them any photos of the museum or any items I have for display but that's a thought. I have been pretty thorough in my letters about the exhibit, what's it's about, who's hosting it, etc. I am planning on making some flyers in the near future and will send them one of those too.
I have heard back from one current player and have gotten some items on loan from two former players that I know personally but that's it so far. One former football player's widow is going to loan some stuff of his too so that's nice. You know I have tried contacting Willis and Rollins agents but not even a courtesy reply from them so I'm not holding my breath. I'll keep plugging away with my letter writing and hope it works out.
Thanks for asking! The museum sports exhibit will not open until July 2009 so there is still some time for me and my co-planner to acquire photos, etc. for it. The plan is going OK so far. I just wish the players (current & former) I have written to about the exhibit took a little more interest in it. Oh well, that was to be expected I guess.
I'm excited because I just picked up an auto'd Royals Joe Nelson jersey from the team and I have been looking for one of those for awhile now. Not sure if it's game used or game issued but I will post pics when I get it next week. Now all I need is a Jimmy Rollins gamer and I'll be a happy man!
